Try adding your user to the 'audio' group.
Thank you very much.
That was it.

@douglas6 I switched the line to pcm.!default and it now shows up under the gui. I still cannot get audio to go through the bluetooth speaker though. I'm getting a permission error. This is on vlc Audio output failed: The audio device "default" could not be used: Permission denied. and with the alex...

Bluetooth audio on stretch

Hello, I started with a clean stretch sd card this weekend. I understand bluetooth audio is supposed to be handled better with Raspbian stretch but I am having issues with it. My bluetooth speaker is paired and shows up in the taskbar(when I right click on the speaker icon), but the audio still defa...

This method should work. Also get rid of blueman if you have it installed.

Force analog audio setting not sticking

Hello, I reflashed a microsd card this weekend with raspbian pixel. The current audio default is set to hdmi. I've set the audio to analog via raspi-config or amixer cset numid=3 1 . This setting is good until I reboot the pi and it reverts back to hdmi again. Is there a way to make the analog audio...

How's the bluetooth speaker on the new pizero? Is the connection stable?
I was never able to get a stable connection on the pi 3. I eneded up disabling the onboard bluetooth and using a bt dongle.

Re: Pi Zero W WiFi + Bluetooth interference?

As someone who stuggled for months with bluetooth audio before finally realizing that the wifi/bluetooth conflict was causing that error, I had the exact thoughts. Hopefully there's a fix for that pi3 issue and that the new pi zero is immune to it.
All that aside I'm looking forward to getting one.

Re: Making an Audio Visualiser

Hey, I'd like to do something similar with my sensehat led matrix. I have a Pi3 which runs amazon alexa which plays back to a bluetooth speaker. Re: Bluetooth crash after days

The onboard bluetooth and wifi do not play nicely. See viewtopic.php?f=28&t=140471&start=25
I disabled the onboard bluetooth and I'm using a usb blueooth dongle. I can confirm I get a stable connection for days. I only disconnect it to recharge the speaker.

Sensehat ground pins?

Hello, I currently have my sensehat connected to my pi3 using an extended header but since I have some spare dupont cable lying around, I want to use them instead. I understand the sensehat uses 6 data GPIOs, 1 3V and 1 5V pin. My question is how many ground pins does it need? 1 or 2? I did look at ...

Re: Bluetooth speaker issues (Pi 3)

Bump What is your set up like? Are you using the onboard wifi and bluetooth? There seems to be an issue with those 2 conflicting and causing the bluetooth to crash. See https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=140471&hilit=bluetooth First thing you should do is get rid of blueman, if...

Re: Bluetooth speaker issues (Pi 3)

I've had this problem for a while now. My bluetooth speaker connection will drop after an hour or sometimes hours. I tried 3 different sd cards. Had one sd card running pulseaudio 6 and bluez 5.43 and I still had that problem. Last week I did a fresh install. I used the raspbian image(not noobs) I s...

Re: Bluetooth Issue

Can you try running

Code: Select all

pulseaudio --start
before right clicking the speaker icon?
Also, you should already have pulseaudio-module-bluetooth installed. If not install it and then repeat the above.
Good luck.

I ordered the same sensor but haven't received it yet. Have you tried a set up without using the pull up resistors? Re: Update Bluez version PI 3

You could try the '--no-install-recommends' flag, but I suspect that won't work. I'm guessing the PulseAudio Bluetooth modules depend on a specific version of BlueZ, and may not even work with a newer version. You could let it reinstall BlueZ 5.23, and then adjust it so it loads your newer version ...
