Re: 2 new options for raspivid

thank you all,

so --spstimings is good to have all the time.
for --slices, it helps in reducing the latency but with less compression efficiency. reducing the latency is good for me so i will start playing with it. i guess practical values should be within 1 - 5

2 new options for raspivid

Hi, i have just updated the firmware "rpi-update" to the latest one and discovered 2 new options in raspivid -stm, --spstimings : Add in h.264 sps timings -sl, --slices : Horizontal slices per frame. Default 1 (off) i tried to understand their usage from the commits with no luck. https://github.com/...

Re: loosing wifi networks in wpa_supplicant.conf

That's fine, but I would like to know if a newly created file also survives. That way you can rule out that it's a permanent problem with your SD card. the files on the home directly are created before loosing the config, they are my files and applications. loosing wpa_supplicant.conf is not happen...

Re: loosing wifi networks in wpa_supplicant.conf

Create a file (name not important) in your hon directory. Then reboot and see if the file is still there. If the file has disappeared it's time to get a new SD card... If it's still there then carry on with the next troubleshooting step i have many files and applications in the home directory and i...

For anyone interested, there is a solution to use the HSP profile with Raspberry Pi 3 ’s built in BCM43438 chip : https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/2229#issuecomment-359233111 I'm curious to know if the new chip CYW43455 (on 3B+) supports HSP profile out of the box or we will face the iss...

Re: Long-Range RPI communication with mobile device

I've been working on a project building a drone using a Pixhawk PX4 as a flight controller, and a rpi. I would like to be able to send from a mobile device to the pixhawk via the rpi new flightpath instructions. My issue is how to communicate between a mobile device e.g. an android smartphone and t...

In the Blog it stated the Official Case is compatible: https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-3-case/ will it be compatible with the PoE hat as well ? if this is the case, i would recommend to have another cover that has a fan hole (and another one for the camera in the same style as for...

it seems that gstreamer couldn't find bluez package to compile the bluez module to allow this. No package 'bluez' found i tried to install bluez-utils but it seems that raspberry is missing this lib, hence gstreamer is not working properly with bluez. did anyone manage to get it right in the latest...

I'm not sure if BlueALSA is included in the Raspbian Lite distribution. I think not. Google for a solution to install and enable BlueALSA.

Re: Raspberry Pi 0 W and armv6

There are no changes to the SoC on the Zero planned that I know of. The Zero is designed to be as cheap as possible, putting a more expensive SoC goes against that intention. So your options are the ARMv7 boards, the Pi 2 and Pi3. So it sems you have picked the wrong board. thanks for the info. if ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 0 W and armv6

Just spoken to some people who know - ServerVM (and I htink openJDK9) is simply not available for ARMv6 - it's not a question of building it, it just doesn't work on ARMv6. There are other packages, like Chromium, that have the same limitations. This is basically out of RPT control, it's someone el...

Re: Raspberry Pi 0 W and armv6

Server VM is only supported on ARMv7+ VFP I guess that means you are going to have to build it from source if you want it for ARMv6. i want to avoid this. i was waiting for this and the result is the same. it is not suitable to have some libraries in the raspberry repository that is not compatible ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 0 W and armv6

It is a straightforward build. We have built it at Pi towers, but its not yet been put in to Raspbian (that isn't done by us BTW). If you need it quickly, building it yourself is the best option. On a Pi is will take an overnight build, but it is simple to do - just follow the instructions. OK, ope...

from debian repository. add first the repo in /etc/apt/sources.list:

Code: Select all

deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian stretch-backports main
then

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install openjdk-9-jdk-headless
it should work with you on Pi3 only

Re: [SOLVED]Stretch OpenCV 3.3.0....

increasing the swap from 100MB to 1024MB solved this issue. you can still compile it with -j4

you need to decrease the swap again once it is done

Code: Select all

$ sudo vi /etc/dphys-swapfile
change CONF_SWAPSIZE to 1024

$ sudo /etc/init.d/dphys-swapfile stop
$ sudo /etc/init.d/dphys-swapfile start
