Re: Struggling with the terminal

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I still get the same error message. In my searching, a lot of people mention something wrong with the DNS settings. I do have the rpi set up with a static IP. I will look over the network configuration.. As for the Arduino, I'm trying to install the Arduino-cli so...

Re: Struggling with the terminal

Yes it does. It redirects me to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pivpn ... install.sh

But I do see the script.

Struggling with the terminal

I'm struggling to install two programs for my pi2b setup. 1. PIVPN 2. Arduino CLI It seems like every attempt I make to install either of these leaves me with an error that I end up searching & trying to troubleshoot myself. After days of struggling, I figured I would ask what I am doing wrong. I'm ...

MQTT/TCP data to Serial Port-- confused

Hi all, I'm kind of stuck with this problem. I built a proof of concept app with App Inventor. It's a TCP and MQTT client app. I have a Mosquitto Broker and a TCP Server(http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34653875/python-how-to-send-data-over-tcp) running on my RPi2. I can connect to both servers an...

Re: MQTT -> RPi -> Arduino I/O's

I have 2 sets of kitchen lights neopixels connected to 2x PiZero controlled by a single MQTT topic to keep them in sync (as they are on opposite ides of the kitchen and my wife wouldn't let me drill holes in the Granite worktops!) This is where I'd like to take this project next. I actually have 2 ...

Re: MQTT -> RPi -> Arduino I/O's

I got that working easily. Thanks for pointing out that Android app (it's going to be a useful tool). I've got a simple python server that subscribes to a "relay/xxx/nnn" topic and switches one of 16 pins on a MCP23017 when the appropriate message is received. I've got another python TkInter progra...

Re: MQTT -> RPi -> Arduino I/O's

Just did a quick test (using PC not Pi but makes no diff) # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- import time import paho.mqtt.client as mqtt from pyfirmata import Arduino, util board = Arduino('com5') # The callback for when the client receives a CONNACK response from the server. def on_connect(client, userdata, ...

Re: MQTT -> RPi -> Arduino I/O's

I am using 'MQTT Dashboard' for now until I get my App Inventor client app working correctly. Right now the broker is on the Pi. The goal is to control the IO pins on the Arduino through my Android app over MQTT as well as receive data back.

MQTT -> RPi -> Arduino I/O's

I have an Android MQTT client app sending data to my Pi. I'd like to have the Pi -which is connected to an Arduino via USB- send that data to the Arduino to control it's I/O pins. Right now the Arduino is running the standard Firmata firmware.

Is this possible?

Re: RaspberryCast 0.1 released (Chromecast-like project)

Can someone tell me why I no longer can ssh, vnc or view my rpi cam on any of their ports anymore after installing this? Couldn't even get the cast to work, all I get is a screen saying it's ready. Browser and android app both not responding.

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hello, Im having some problems with my setup, hopefully someone can help. I originally installed Rpi Cam Web Interface with no problems. I could type in my IP address:port # and camera feed would appear, all was ok. Then I decided to try out this tutorial https://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/lamp-we...
