How to test WiFi speed in AP mode?

I set up my Pi to AP mode, and I want to know its wifi speed. Is there an easy way or a script to find out the speed?

thanks

Can anyone help? I really don't want to build a customized kernel that has to be rebuilt again when a new kernel is available.

How to build a power gauge driver?

I currently have an AXP17x power management chip to manage the battery supply. To query the power information, I was given a set of driver files, in which the instruction requires it to be built under directory kernel/drivers/power with Makefile and Kconfig . However under my /lib/modules/4.14.98-v7...

Re: How to safely exit my program before KEY_POWER shutdown?

I tried to implement a simple test in both c++ and python, but couldn't trap SIGTERM. Shutdown happens immediately either by pull the shutdown-pin down or just type "sudo shutdown now".

Re: Confused about the naming of CAM0 and CAM1

CAMERA_x_UNICAM_PORT dictates whether you are using the CAM0 or CAM1 connector for the CSI bus routing. All other settings need to then follow suit to connect up the device. Thank you for pointing it out! Now everything is clear. Because CAM1 is the more capable interface, all non-CM Pi variants us...

Confused about the naming of CAM0 and CAM1

The CMIO board schematic shows 4 pins are disabled in CAM0 socket while CAM1 socket has full pins. This correctly corresponds to the documented 2-lane CAM0 and 4-Lane CAM1 blocks inside the compute module. However in the tutorial https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/computemodule/cmio-...

Re: How to safely exit my program before KEY_POWER shutdown?

Given that AIUI all the overlay does is send a KEY_POWER event you'd do it the same way you'd trap a clean shutdown by any other means: trap a few signals and act on them. The exact way you do that depends on which language your programme is written in. Does it mean I won't be able to act upon the ...

I2c-rtc is set up to talk to an rtc on i2c_arm, not an i2c_gpio device. Documentation of overlays is in the readme https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/blob/rpi-4.14.y/arch/arm/boot/dts/overlays/README There's also an i2c-rtc-gpio overlay that is the same as i2c-rtc but using i2c_gpio. I have used adafruit RTC pcf8523 with raspberry pi. Now I am trying to get it to work on CM3+. I tried to edit the config.txt to set it on pins 22/23 or 23/24 (as appeared default in i2c-gpio) # Add new I2C #dtoverlay=i2c-gpio,i2c_gpio_sda=22,i2c_gpio_scl=23 #dtoverlay=i2c1-bcm2708,sda1_pin=22,scl1_...

So I installed the "official" deb file, "gpio -v" gives correct information "Compute Module 3 Plus". Yet gpio readall still doesn't work. Have a look at this topic for changes needed to support the 3A+ https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... ?p=1420267

You may be able to mod it for this board.
I see thanks! I think I'll just keep developing with my CM3 for now till his official update.

wiringPi problems with CM3+

I tried a CM3+ and CM3+ lite, they both have problems with wiringPi.

Code: Select all

gpio readall
gives error "unable to determine board type ... model 16".

I checked the wiringPi version it is up to date 2.46. My raspbian kernel is 4.14.79 #1159 the newest too. Need some help here.

Which version of the CM3+? What other steps did you do to boot it? Where to find the version? It's a CM3+ lite with all new heatsink, has a barcode with 07/12 under it and 1.12 printed on the back. CM3+ Compute module display resolution is off

I just got my new CM3+, it booted on the CMIO (v3.0) board. But the display resolution is way off and nothing plugged in the USB (host) seem to work, mouse, keyboard, wifi, hub, nothing works. I did perform update and dist-upgrade on another pi first.

How to use files under linux/drivers/power to get battery gauge?

What are all the files listed under linux/drivers/power (https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/tr ... vers/power)? Does it mean if I connect a PMU driver listed there (presumably to i2c), pi would automatically know it and I can probe the information somehow?

Re: Is there a c++ API based on raspiraw?

What do you define as raw? Bayer, YUV, RGB, or something else? Some people don't understand the difference. Raspicam should be able to deliver you YUV or RGB. Bayer is generally a right pain in the neck to deal with. The only access to the Bayer data as a video stream is through raspiraw, and that ...

Re: Pi Camera vs USB WebCam for OpenCV

Pi camera has higher frame rate and resolution, but as you said the image is not raw (10bit). There's a thread dedicated to retrieve raw image with modified driver I believe. With only sub2.0, I don't see any usb wecam can compete with speed. If you only use opencv to process image/video, I don't se...
