Re: [how to] enable long touch as right click

Using Buster on a Pi3, I installed evdev and wrote xorg.conf, but no joy on long touch. could you be more specific about what manual configuration might be needed? Thanks. I think it depends on the brand of screen that you have. I think that for some screens evdev works, and for instance on the "of...

Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

I wanted to do some improvements and alignment in mame4all, you can find here binary for rpi2: http://fdarcel.free.fr/mame4all_pi2.zip Source code: https://github.com/Chips-fr/mame4all-pi-adv - Audio correction(track n field, punchout, world cup 90, ... general fm emulation is slightly better...) -...

Re: [how to] enable long touch as right click

Thank you for the answers above. Xorg.conf is in /etc/X11 folder. I do begin to wonder if it is used - I now find when looking through Xorg.0.log that not all of the EmulateThirdButton commands (in Xorg.conf) are used. Try to move it to the directoy /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ . Also install evdev : sudo...

Can start Jack, but any app stop it...

Hi there, I use: Pi B+ Raspbian 9 Stretch USB audio device: Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD (class compliant) I need to use Jack Audio to record stuff with Traverso or any other app for that matter. I can start Jack just fine w/ the command: jackd -d alsa --device hw:2 However, when ever I start an appl...

Re: [how to] enable long touch as right click

I have been trying again to get the long touch to work on stretch, with the official 7 inch screen. it has created a number of questions, which for ease I will number at the beginning of the line as they come up! As my install of stretch does not seem to have the file, and path, mentioned earlier, ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ Reverting back to HDMI display

Thank you! I've been looking for this solution over a month now and this is EXACTLY the fix I needed. Worked like a charm, although I'm worried to try switching back. The first time I did ./LCD-hdmi it worked but then when I went back to the 3.5 I tried the ./LCD-hdmi command again and it echoed ba...

Re: [how to] enable long touch as right click

Does anyone know how to enable the long touch for the right mouse button in Buster / Debian 10 (on the Official Touch screen on a Raspberry Pi 4) ? I poked around looking for - /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf but the similariry ends at - /etc/X11/ Cheers, Ian . You might try to create it. ...

Re: [how to] enable long touch as right click

Thank you for the answer. I am running "Stretch" so I am a little confused as to why you would have the folder, and I have not. I really need this long press feature! Do you think adding the folder and making the file would produce a result? Thank you! You may have another LCD touch screen than I h...

Re: [how to] enable long touch as right click

Please can someone expand on the last post, quoting "solved it". Is this all I have to do to get a long touch on Jessie? I am quite new to Pi. The line "Solved it by adding this to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf: " is a little confusing to me. I take it that this is the path:- "/etc/X11/x...

Re: [how to] enable long touch as right click

Solved it by adding this to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf : # Right mouse button is long press with pen: Option "EmulateThirdButton" "1" Option "EmulateThirdButtonTimeout" "750" Option "EmulateThirdButtonMoveThreshold" "30" [edit 16-6-2019] It must be added in the section called "InputCla...

Re: no more pd-extended

Just got a zero wifi and tried installing pd-extended using this method: I installed a few raspberry 3 using this method and it always worked (on raspbian Jessie I think), but this time no luck, the "sudo apt-get -f install" just removes pd-extended (when it's supposed to fix it with the correct de...

Re: no more pd-extended

Pd-extended is not maintained anymore (since 2013 I think...). Building from source on a Linux box doesn't work either anymore. That's why I think it isn't included in the standard repo's anymore. Pd "Vanilla" as it is now called (i.e. without the extended stuff) does not run the old Pd-extended pat...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ Reverting back to HDMI display

Okay, here's what I did to get my HDMI screen working again. At first I tried to use the script LCD-hdmi which is the script that one is supposed to use to switch back to HDMI from the 3.5" LCD screen. It's one of the files from https://github.com/goodtft/LCD-show you have to download to your Pi and...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ Reverting back to HDMI display

I would assume something in the files have changed. My original post did note no backup of them where made before the code tramples all over them. The simplest thing if the owner of the code is not keeping it up to date would be to make a new SD card with plain old HDMI support, take the files of t...

Re: SSH hangs sometimes

It is most definitely a problem with the modem-router from my internet service provider Ziggo (brand/model: Technicolor TC7210). I've got a bunch of SD cards for my Pi. One with a mediacenter (Libreelec), classic gaming center (Retropie) and all of them have the same problem. The moment that I use m...

Re: SSH hangs sometimes

Update: connected the Pi and my PC to my old router and the problems were gone. However: I have no internet then. Connecting my old router to my modern "router/modem" did not get me my internet back (not even after a reboot of PC and Pi). I still suspect the modem/router device.

From where do you login? Your own LAN? Did you try logging in from different machines? From my own LAN. SSH hangs sometimes

Hi there, I'm using Raspbian 9 (Stretch) on a Pi B+ When I log into my Pi via ssh then it hangs every few minutes. When I type in something on the command line I see nothing appearing for a while or each of the letters appear 5 seconds after each other. This totally unworkable and unacceptable. Mind...

I am considering getting a Raspberry PI 2 to use it as a media player (both movies, all audio formats) and audio with an external DAC. If the external DAC only requires USB2 drivers, it should be fine on Unix, since those are native Regarding the audio, in the end , what is the expected behavior on...
