Re: Using RPi3 in pressure compensated (oil-filled) enclosur

Thanks for the replies, I haven't had this on my mind for a couple of weeks. I will summarize below: Deep-sea exploration perhaps? Encapsulation is a sensible alternative to building pressure vessels. -- exactly. The real concern is the oil dissolving the plastic or the PCB. So, if the oil that is u...

Using RPi3 in pressure compensated (oil-filled) enclosure?

Does anybody know if somebody has pressure-tested (and published the results) of an RPi3? Most parts appear solid so it is plausible it could be operated inside an pressure-compensated (oil-filled) enclosure to some pressure, I am curious to what pressure might be possible before failure? I am fully...

Re: Feature requests?

Nor did the OP say anything about such a feature being "required", but only that he thought it would be nice to have. Now *if* there is board space where holes could be placed without causing other problems, *then* providing holes to solder in your own USB headers might be feasible. That would be a...

Feature requests?

Is there a location for RPi feature requests? I am sure it has been asked before, but 1 or 2 USB headers extending from the PCB would be really nice to add to the next RPi version. They don't even have to be additional ports, just a tap off the external connectors would be fine. It would just add to...

Re: Pi3 Z dimensions

I was looking for the same information. Do the people responsible for the official mechanical drawings check here, or is it worth a email? It would SUPER handy for the official drawings to include the orthogonal projections. It would certainly aid in home brew enclosures. Even better, could Raspberr...
