Re: omxplayer - GPU enabled video player

The easiest way to do that is to first not bother starting X with xinit. Log in with SSH and start the video, then run these commands by SSH again - clear > /dev/tty0 then echo 0 > /sys/class/graphics/fbcon/cursor_blink It might be possible to do it by starting the video on TTY1 and then using anoth...

Re: Ethernet only running half-duplex, 10M

Thanks very much for the detailed replies.

After a little more experimenting I've discovered that the problem lies with a configuration on my laptop and the pi is actually fine (it works connected to another computer).

I'll make another post on the Arch forums instead.

Ethernet only running half-duplex, 10M

The ethernet on my rasp pi has been working great for the last week or so, set up with a static IP connected directly to my laptop. I went away for a couple of days and took the pi with me, even managed to watch an HD film on it over ethernet at someone's house. Today I come back home, connect it up...

Re: omxplayer - GPU enabled video player

I had a go running with the -t option before, but it wouldn't accept it.

Just now tried passing a number into it, tried 0, 1, 2 and 3 on separate attempts. It played but no subtitles would show, not even in the shell either.

Re: Cannot increase partition size on SD card

I realise that. The resizing was done using a card reader and laptop while the card was unmounted.

Re: omxplayer - GPU enabled video player

I gather that omxplayer supports subtitles, but I can't seem to get them to display.

I have some mkv files with the subtitles contained in them. Pressing s doesn't seem to do anything.

Any suggestions?

Cannot increase partition size on SD card

I have Arch running nicely on my Pi, but for some reason I cannot persuade the SD card to use its full capacity. I have followed the instructions on http://elinux.org/RPi_Easy_SD_Card_Setup fully, but it just doesn't seem to work. I also tried to resize the partitions in Gparted, but although it see...
