Yes I have it working on a pi zero w. Do you have any specific questions?

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero: USB sniffing

I have had some limited success sniffing with usbProxy using a pi zero w and a MAX3421E SPI to USB bridge. It kinda works but the operation not the most reliable. you also might want to look at the FaceDancer project(s). You may want to look at hardware other than the pi for this.

Re: gadget USB device not recognized during boot.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here in that you're not using usbProxy for malicious purposes. No malicious intent here, but given the topic I can see why you might think so. More importantly, how are you getting around its requirement that you have both a host port and a slave port on the d...

That wasn't hippy, that was me. sorry about that... just used the quote function in the editor and didn't check that it quoted the right person. Yes I agree about it being a problem with the data lines driving each other... that's one of the reasons I call it kludge. your comment about passing vali...

Re: gadget USB device not recognized during boot.

Thanks again guys Another option might be to use a gpio circuit that pulls the ID pin low (which puts dwc2 into host mode) and releases it once the gadget is ready. However, that might result in both the PC and the Pi trying to power and probe the USB bus. I've no idea whether that's safe and it's p...

Re: gadget USB device not recognized during boot.

You could try installing rpiboot for and on Windows if you haven't already as that should create a device driver which should make Windows recognise the Boot device. That might get rid of the message. Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately I am not able to change anything on the Windows computer.

gadget USB device not recognized during boot.

I have been using the pi zero with gadgetfs. While the pi is booting I get an error message from the Windows system I have the pi connected to: "USB device not recognized. The Last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it. Windows Explorer". The error...

Re: USBProxy on PI Zero W

looks like the code did not recognize the gadgetfs device on the raspberry pi. I have not done any serious testing yet, but adding "20980000.usb", to *devices[] in src/Plugins/Hosts/GadgetFS_helpers.c find_gadget_filename() seems to solve the problem.

USBProxy on PI Zero W

Has anyone used USBPRoxy on the PI Zero (W). I have been try to use it with a MAX3421E as the host port and the local USB as the device (gadget) port. I have not been having a lot of luck. I has wondering if anyone else had tried this, and if they could give me any tips. I seem to have the MAX3421E ...

Cezar, I was wanting to have both a host and a device on the pi zero w, were you successful getting the MAX3421e working on the pi?

Re: simultaneous usb gadget and host

Thanks for the comments thagrol, No, I can't use a network printer, I don't have the option of changing the interface to a network interface. As for addons or chips for arduino... that has some potential. I see there has been some work with the MAX3421E. There is also a linux driver this chip. I hav...

simultaneous usb gadget and host

I want to use a Raspberry Pi Zero W to capture (and manipulate) data between a computer and a usb printer. I was thinking I could set up two usb ports - one a host USB port, the other a device (gadget) port. The gadget port would have to be configured to look like the printer. Unfortunately the pi o...

Re: usb wifi adpater fails after down-up with predictable network names

OK, my mind must be play tricks on me. This does not seem to me happening if I have predictable network names turned off (i'm sure I saw it both ways be can't get it to happen again). I have run over a 100 cycle of "ip link set wl.... down/ifup follow by a delay and ifconfig for the usb wifi adpater...

Re: predictable interface names failing in Stretch

My experience with post 2017-09-07 release has been different. Things work on nicely with both predictable on or off if you do a power on reset (onboard = wlan0) however if you do a soft reset (sudo reboot) the interfaces sometimes come up reversed (onboard = wlan1). This happens even with predictab...

Re: Only one wifi device comes back up

So it look like the result of down'ing the usb wifi adapter is a slightly random effect. I have had a few good passes with not stack traces in the systlog... others where there is a stack trace in the syslog, but the system work afterwords. It seems to work better on a virgin SD card (no mods other ...

I can't get wlan0 to fail anymore. not sure why. I also found the folllowing in the syslog... which shows the crash but does not explain what is causing it. I am going to try rebuild the file system to see if that helps. Nov 28 19:49:15 PI-B827EBEED6DF dhcpcd[2046]: wlx74da386d1ecd: carrier lost Nov...

usb wifi adpater fails after down-up

I have raspbian-lite Pi 3 that I am using with a usb wifi adapter . I only intend to have one device up at a time. I use "sudo ip link set xxxx down" and "sudo ip link set xxxx up" to bring them up and down. When I initially boot the system both wifi devices will work... connecting to the router. Af...

Re: how to automatically disable wifi when wired connection is present (stretch).

ifplugd was not installed by default for stretch. I also thought it relied on ifup and ifdown which don't work on stretch. It looks like you can replace the ifup and ifdown in the script. So to it looks like I can still install and use use ifplugd or netplug. It also looks like I could do it with dh...

Connecting to wifi router after changing wpa_supplicant.config without reboot (stretch)

How do you get the raspberry pi to connect to the wifi router after setting the ssid/password without rebooting. In older versions I just used 'sudo ifdown wlan0; sudo ifup wlan0' but ifupdown is not supported on stretch. I have tried each of the following, none of which have work: sudo systemctl re...
