Re: Buster fails to boot from USB on 3B+

What are you talking about? Raspbian Buster boots from USB on ALL of my Raspberries that support booting from USB devices. That worked first go, straight from the download of 2019-07-10 from https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian_latest written with Etcher. No it will not, the Pi 3 B+ (1.3) sto...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 PSU

The RPi4B does not sense what the PSU is capable of delivering. It has no means of sensing that. The RPi 4 can detect what value the USB-C CC termination resistor Rp is which indicates the maximum current available. It doesn't appear to do anything with it though. Please provide the location of whe...

Re: USB boot, PI3B+: followed instructions, doesn't work

LToledo and rpdom, thanks for replying. Of course on my initial trials of native usb boot I had the sd card out. But it eventually wound up just sitting there w/ the green light flashing 4 times & repeating. This time, the only thing I did different was I used Etcher instead of win32diskimager (v1....

Re: Powered usb hub

The "Juiced Systems" units on Amazon look pretty good. I just received a "10-Port USB 3.0 Hub" that is a very solid unit, comes with a 12V 4A "switching power adapter" that is not delicate at all! Anyway, I am impressed - externally - we'll see how it performs. I plan to put it to work this weekend.

Here's another recommendation for a nice compact aluminum case. I have an SSD mounted in it and it has been quite reliable! Several reboots and cold boots have had no issues. Powered through the Pi (no USB hub or external pwr supply for the SSD). Seatay Aluminum Tool-Free 2.5 Inch SATA to USB 3.0 Ex...

I have been running a Geekworm X820 since July, booting SSD only and all updates applied regularly. Hasn't missed a beat and is very reliable. I can't imagine what you could have done to cause such problems.

"It is a PSU. I just tested another one I hot my hands on (same specs, different manufacturer), same result."

Does that not suggest that you might try a power supply with MORE capability? I would try one capable of providing at least 2.5 or 3.0AMPS.
