Re: Raspbian Stretch Desktop Update/Upgrade issue

[Solved] Okay, so I got connected to the net using WEP. I used this same trick when I got my first pi3 a couple of years ago. I do not know why I didn’t try it at the outset. Sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces auto wlan0 allow-hotplug wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp wireless-essid YOUR_SSID wireless-key ...

Re: Raspbian Stretch Desktop Update/Upgrade issue

I tried through the GUI then I reverted to this forum and variations through the command line. If only I had a lan connection lol. I cannot connect to wifi so I don’t know how to copy large amounts of text and paste them into a post on here. I only have 1 USB and that is tied up with the keyboard.

Re: Raspbian Stretch Desktop Update/Upgrade issue

All Rx and Tx are reading 0. My router is not visible. I must point out the router I am on is WEP encrypted because someone else uses it and I don’t want to upset his access. I have the desktop version of Raspbian Stretch on the zero. If this router was spa encrypted would the internet connection be...

Re: Raspbian Stretch Desktop Update/Upgrade issue

I took the SD card out of the ZERO W and into the RPi b3 and not a problem with it. Time sets correctly but back in the ZERO W and the time is incorrect.

AIRCRAFT BLACK BOX If an accelerometer magnetomer and GPS were attached to the PI with data logging capabilities you could have a cheap black box for aviation. It could be powered by the cable that powers the tail light. It would be located in the tail area because it usually doesn't burn or back i...

Running two programs together

I currently run PiAware feeding data back to Flightaware. This is a live 24 feed back to flightaware. I would like to feed data to planefinder, and others if possible. They have a procedure to load their program onto the pi. Is it possible to download planefinder data feed and have it running at the...

Re: [solved] Pi 3 - Fresh install no wifi interface

I can see the SSID of my router but I cannot get pi3 to connect. It is a WEP key. Why should that matter though? I tried bortsi's code at start of thread and it returned eth0, Lo and wlan0. When I tried to go into settings it wouldn't remember my SSID after a reboot. Help. New to this Linux.

Re: [solved] Pi 3 - Fresh install no wifi interface

Hi. I just received my pi3 too. Ordered with Noobs. I presume it is up to date. My router uses a WEP key. When I enter the key it doesn't recognise me. The PI3 wireless does pick up the ISSD of the router though. I tried borsti's code at start of thread and it returned etho0, Lo and wlan0. Does anyo...
