Re: E-ink display

Since Waveshare has presented a numerous e-ink hats collection, I want to raise this topic up. is there a solution on how to use e-ink display HAT with SPI protocol as the Raspberry Pi command line or UI monitor? Low Framerate does not matter Partial screen update is now available on 2.13'' HATs PI ...

Re: how to trigger gpio pin with 24v

Thank you Mahjongg and Mastermushi. Here is my revised schematic following some advices on a different forum Thank you in advance You have some errors. In this kind of schematics please mind the transistor as the simple switch. Therefore you can write simple equivalent lines to detect those errors....

Re: Send text from my laptop to the raspberry's screen

It is possible. You will need to use USB to UART adapter which is connected to Laptop USB and Raspberry UART. Therefore everything you send from Laptop using terminal ot UART app will be available as the stdin stream at raspberry PI UART port. Use this tutorial http://www.elinux.org/Serial_port_prog...

OK, got the screen up - see posting below this one setting: dtoverlay=piscreen in /boot/config.txt [ note: there seem to be several lines in that file that are dupes or unused??? - but that's for another t&p ] So the screen comes up - looks good. cursor seems to be 90 or 270 out - to get to the top...

Re: how to trigger gpio pin with 24v

I have been doing the simillar project with DC36V, AC220V input and with 400V input from radiation sensor. The very best soluton for <400V is to use optocoupler with current driver or simply a resistor. Here is the typical "cheap" (resistor only) use of the optocoupler in the 220V schematics both on...

By the way, I have turned back my OS to NOOBS 1.9.0 cause in versions from 2017 SSH\XRDP and WiFi work VERY unstable!
Could you please try older version of Jessie? Do not forget to sudo apt-get update the old OS or evtest wont install

How do you have so large calibration numbers? Please install evtest run it using sudo evtest and post the touch log for the corner points. :D By the way I have the XPT issue as well. Just purchased 4inch display and I have failed in calibration. Touch simply gives random numbers.....or no numbers at...

DPMS detector for LCD backlight controll

Hello raspbianners Today I have a very interesting interfacing question(s). We all know those cheap and very widespread 5 inch HDMI displays by Waveshare. And it is also known that the worst thing in them is the manual backlight control! This exact fact makes the whole idea of making the portable Pi...

Sorry for not attending this thread for a long while. 2 mrKrecik Sad to say, but UART is CONSTANTLY having issues with NEO6. Did you try to use fresh Jessie distributive? Do not use Wheesy or any images or drivers supplied with the screen. Community had already fixed most of issues including XPT drivers

Re: Pi3 UART issue

1) sudo nano /boot/config.txt add core_freq=250 enable_uart=1 Yes you will have 600mhz raspberry 3 now. As the alternative you may add force_turbo=1 as the third line and have constant 1200mhz but you HAVE TO BE SURE that heatsink is present and power supply is capable to give 2.5amps 2) sudo nano /...

Hah! You are not he only one with the touch chip issue at the Waveshare display board. I actually thought that I have the same broken chip issue. I had killed Wheezy an...

I suspect you have forgot that at the ADC input you have OpAmp which requires certain pre-processing and linearToVref correlation

I recommend you to use the input circuitry from this schematic

sudo nano /boot/config.txt and add init_uart_clock=16000000 This will allow you to use standard UART speeds up to 960kbps Just as a reminder: UART is the device to device interface. For example - thermal printer+Raspberry, Remote camera controller+Raspberry, CellPhone and Raspberry. If you use MCUs...

Okay, community. Here is what I have found out in regards to issues with mini UART on Raspberry Pi 3 when config.txt has force_turbo=1 1) Force turbo simply does not work if CPU gouverneur is enabled through "CPU SPEED" plugin for the dashboard. 2) Mini UART has started to crash the speed after late...

Raspberry Pi 3 requires 2.5 amps (2500ma) to run properly with the LCD display attached. However, it works with 2100mA without noticeable issues and only rainbow square at the top right corner says that there is not enough power. Basically, without display and without WiFi/bluetooth use Raspberry Pi...
