Re: DC-DC 12V-5V Converter power issue

Not sure if it is allowed to reccomend a specific device. It also depends on the sampling rate - the more you pay the higher the sample rate So if like me you are looking at PWM signals and stepper motor drivers then only a low sample rate is required on the other hand if you are looking at PC and c...

Re: DC-DC 12V-5V Converter power issue

Sorry, As a follow up I can strongly recomend a usb oscilloscope for anyone. They are relatively cheap and you can use the scope to fine tune pwm signals and any issues with GPIO output with endangering your pi. You can access you PI through VNC or other in one window and have another window monitor...

Re: DC-DC 12V-5V Converter power issue

Hi There, I have a couple of these running a PI3 and a PI2 - I think the issue is that the problem is the PSU is not truly DC there is still a slight element of a/c in the voltage I have the issue on a benchtop psu and I have checked it with an oscillosope. Both my units are on mobile platforms one ...

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have any experience of Easy I2C and the BV4626 module.

I am particularly interested in getting the four ADC working using I2C interface

Anyone got any experience in this???

Kind regards,

Re: wrong i2c address

Hya All, Realized that I have a similar issue with my DA 5883 6009 (my chip extension) got the 0x0D return - got the data sheet and pretty sure all is working does someone have some working python code so I can test. Tried the code above and had to add a load of indents and other fixes - I am using ...

Sorry - just noticed it didn't copy the indents in the loop just cut and pasted DOH!!
it's supposed to cycle through left center and right.

Re: Rpi2 and 3 servo controi difference

Here is the test code that I used from my PC I may have changed some details on the PI's import RPi.GPIO as GPIO import time GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM) servoPin=19 GPIO.setup(servoPin, GPIO.OUT) pwm=GPIO.PWM(servoPin,50) pwm.start(10) for i in range(0,3): desiredPosition=i * 80 DC=(desiredPosition) / 14...

Rpi2 and 3 servo controi difference

Hi There, I have a question regarding the raspberry pi 3 and 2 with pwm servo control. My development board is a Pi3 with touch screen, Pi Cobbler and powered bread board. My Robot is a pi 2, 2 x stepper motors, battery pack and a servo operated ultrasonic module. I test everything on the developmen...

Re: Relay Control

Well Hope I got this right. Images Here :- http://imgur.com/a/4Be4B Put together A 2N5551 with a 10 K ohm resistor on the base and if in input is floating i.e not connected to anything then there is a bit of relay chatter - but when connected to 3.3 or GPIO works perfect. I included a picture of my ...

Re: Relay Control

Thanks for all the help. I will try and resize some photos to post but I have used my camera on macro to take a look at the relay board. It is dead simple but the transistor switching the relay is a 2TY surface mount - which is PNP so explains why it switches to ground and not GPIO hi / lo (I believ...

Re: Relay Control

Here is the code I am testing with - problems uploading photo cos of file sizes - but it's damned simple attaching vcc on relay board with +5V Gnd goes to mutual shared ground and input goes to pin 17 on PI relay switches when I initiate pin 17 and switches off when I do the cleanup. If I manually c...

Relay Control

Hi there, This may sound totally dumb and I am obviously missing something. I have bought a shedload of 10A 250V relay boards with protection diodes, led's and surface mounted transistor switches for my project, without a magnifying glass can't tell you which transistor (pnp or npn). So each board h...

Hi Jbudd, Well I don't know why but it worked at least with ethernet but I rebooted the pi and attached the ethernet. It's still kept it's ip addy of 192.168.227 but is now /23 we have eth0 configured 192.168.1.227/23 then same again followed by a load of hexidecimal when I go into the HH 6 dhcp it ...

Re: New BT Home Hub 6

Hi Dirk, Many thanks for your time this morning :D But things are not going well - The Home Hob 6 won't let me assign the pi a dynamic ip even though I set it to DHCP and save it won't save the change it must be the pi that is telling the hub what it wants to do. Can I tell the pi to accept DHCP set...

Still No joy at connecting pi to internet. Rebooted pi and it defaulted to the 255.255.255.0 netmask but that really shouldn't matter. Re: New BT Home Hub 6

Okies, Been trying a few things. 1) added the /23 at end of 192.168.1.227 and rebooted pi - now shows /23 on network tab but still no internet connection. 2) accessed the BT hub through 192.168.1.254 on pi and got onto hub's login page - shows the pi is getting that far but no further so got to be f...

New BT Home Hub 6

Hi there, Just recently upgraded by BT home hub 4 to a HH6 - While my pi 2 B with built in wifi was working fine on my HH 4 it won't work correctly on HH 6 either wired or wireless. It has kept the same fixed ip addy 192.168.1.227 and I can ping it from other machines on my network, the network. The...

Re: Pi 3 and a webcam

Hi Selva, I'll do my best but I am assuming that the issue is a fundamental difference between a Pi 2 (Wheezy) and a Pi 3 (Jessie) and the differences if I am wrong then I'll hold my hand up. Also the differences between ffmpeg and libav-tools. #firstly check all is up to date sudo apt-get install r...
