Re: Is there any input lag on the Pi 3 when using Emulation?

Agreed - you definately won't be emulating an PS2 games on the Pi 3 - that's just pushing things a little too far. PS1 and some PSP games work well and arcade games up to the early 2000's seem to run fine. In response to the original question about lag - I run my Pi3 attached via HDMI to my TV (plas...

Re: Questions about Raspberry Pi 3 and emulation

I can answer 2 of your questions. The Raspberry Pi 3 has more than enough power to run arcade games form the early 90's. Golden Axe runs fine, Shadow Force also runs fine - not sure about Undercover Cops but I'm guessing it will. I run games from the early 2000's on my Pi 3 with RetroPie and no slow...

Re: Pi 3 retro distro

There are a few different options to get retro gaming going on your Pi 3. Most of these are built upon Raspbian and will include all the emulators you will need to emulate most systems such as arcade, early consoles and early computers. They don't however include the actual games themselves for lega...

Re: gaming pi noob

Get yourself a Pi 3. Even though you're retro gaming it's still a case of the more power the better. In terms of hardware the basics are: - Raspberry Pi - HDMI Cable - to attach to your TV or Monitor - SD Card - to install the OS on that runs the Raspberry Pi - it will also hold the roms, games and ...

Re: Plex Media Server Issues

Did you manually specify that port number - as my PLEX server is automatically set to use port number 32400 - not 32401 like yours. Double check you have it correctly. Maybe also check you router logs - and see if you are being blocked for some reason coming in from the outside. Just because PLEX ca...

Re: 'emulationstation' command only working through SSH

I see from the Waveshare website that all their screens come with a Raspbian driver. This needs to be loaded before you try and run emaultionstation. It is working via SSH because it isn't trying to send the output to the waveshare screen. Check on the Waveshare site for your exact screen type and d...

Re: Retropi on raspberry pi 3

PSX games work very well on RetroPie - even on the Raspberry Pi 2 - though they run even smootther on the Pi 3.

Like has already been said - multiplayer games is not a problem - you just need another controller for the other player and make sure it's setup in the emulator you are using for the game.

You could have a look at this tutorial I wrote which runs through how to get roms onto your Raspberry Pi - it is written for RetroPie, RecalBox, Lakka and PiPlay. You can just look at the Transfer via Network Browse and Transfer via WinSCP sections. http://raspberryretro.com/tutorials/getting-the-ga...

Re: VNC Retropi

Interesting concept there - using your phone as an external screen for your Raspberry Pi.

Would like to know if there's any type of lag as I've used VNC before and it lagged - but that was a while ago. But with gaming - even old games - any lag can ruin it for you.

Re: WiFi Issues ? Start here !

Interesting to read all these posts as since day 1 after buying my Pi3 haven't had any issues setting up or using the built in Wifi.

I'm using a Pi3 as a PLEX media streamer and watch many 1080p videos on it - all streamed across Wifi.

Guess maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.

You could also look at getting hold of the latest version of RetroPie - http://www.retropie.org.uk

It comes with versions of Doom and Quake built in as ports.

If your Xbox One controller is the model 1697 then I think it is incompatible with the Raspberry Pi. You can checkout this forum post from Petrockblog for more information

The latest RetroPie and RecalBox images are designed for both Pi 2 and Pi 3 so anything that works on one will work on the other. You can have a look here for the list of systems emulated by each - anything that's listed as experimental means it isn't fully optimised yet. RetroPie - http://raspberry...

Re: Copy bios files from usb to Pi3

Probably the easiest way is to attach your Raspberry Pi to your local network and then you can browse to it. Once connected to the network, if you go to Windows Explorer (assuming you are using windows) and click on Network on the left side you will see a list of available network resources - and ho...

Re: retropie help please

the easiest way to do this is to have your Raspberry Pi attached to your local network. Then you can just browse through Windows explorer (I'm assuming you have a windows PC) and you should see a network resource called RetroPie. If you go into that you will see the roms directory as well as a few o...

I am into Retro Gaming so have setup my own website at http://www.raspberryretro.com to give people information on what's available to start retro gaming with the Raspberry Pi. I've been here a few times but I have ...
