I'd need to find 5 minutes to check, but I suspect it is setting width/height after bitrate that is the key. Memory says that they are both set via the same parameter, so potentially it is only setting bitrate first gets it passed in. If so then I ought to look into fixing it. Frame rate will affec...

Interesting one that I hadn't tried before. A couple of data points please - "uname -a" and "vcgencmd version". There was a kernel update so that V4L2 asks which camera module is installed (V1 or V2) and sets the max resolution appropriately. Looks like that was https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux...
