recurring i/o errors - usb ssd

I have an ssd connected via inland usb3 to sata adaptor directly to the pi 4. The other usb3 connector goes straight to a powered hub. There is nothing else connected to the pi except for an hdmi adaptor and the official pi power supply. During heavy activity on the ssd (apt install, rsyncing the ca...

Re: Weird HDMI Audio Problem on Pi 4 (PulseAudio)

Any solution for this? I only see analog mono but one of the hdmi puts out audio. It’s really screwy.

Cannot configure audio - pi 4 - budgie desktop

I installed budgie desktop on raspbian lite and while most things are working, I found bugs with wifi and sound. I have the wifi problem solved (which I'll post about later once I have everything working) but sound is still a bit of a mess. First, audio playback is unstable. It stutters and crackles...

Re: Pi4 64-bit raspbian kernel for testing - Focus on Pi4

Saskook, I had the same problem doing apt install, but only for some packages and only if I used Konsole. Any other terminal interface was fine.

Re: Pi4 64-bit raspbian kernel for testing - Focus on Pi4

In testing, I've found arduino is broken on 64 bit. avrdude throws "mmap error -1" in 64 bit, but works fine in 32 bit. I've also found Konsole will crash during apt installs for some things, but other consoles work fine.

Re: What's different about how the pi 4 boots?

I understand it’s going to upgradable and that’s great but it doesn’t explain the process it goes through at boot. How does booting work in a pi 4 that’s different from previous generations? Does it not try to pull a binary off storage via GPU anymore?

Pretend I’m an idiot.

What's different about how the pi 4 boots?

I wanted to run lakka on a pi 4. Obviously, it isn't ready for the pi 4 yet so I tried a tried I used on the 3b+ when it first came out. I dropped in the newer bootcode.bin, overlay, and bcm*.dtb files. That should at least get it to boot right? No. The 4b looked briefly at the SD card and noped out...

Re: camera module in 64 bit mode

I dont think so. The cores share memory, so if one writes something 64bittish, another core would read it as 32bittish and it wouldn’t make sense.

Also, “bittish” is a language and 32/64 are dialects. The internet will make it so.

Re: camera module in 64 bit mode

I get that 64 bit isn’t a priority and was never a target for the pi foundation. It just annoys me there is a feature there that I haven’t been able to use.

camera module in 64 bit mode

Has anyone managed to get the pi camera working while booted into 64 bit mode?

Re: distorted audio on youtube/pandora

So if I wanted to use chromium or Firefox on the pi, I would have to do it without hardware acceleration?

distorted audio on youtube/pandora

Wether I use the built-in analog, HDMI or an external USB audio device, All I get from youtube and pandora is what's in the video below. I know, I'm using xubuntu rather than raspian, but the aesthetics of raspian turned me off of it right away. Ubuntu MATE was also tested and while it behaved with ...
