Re: PHP Apache 101

Looking at my error logs there's an error for
File does not exits: /var/www/favicon.ico

Is this what's causing my problem? If so how do I get around it?

Re: Bad advice to mess with /etc/passwd

Thanks

I editted cmdine.txt on Windows using Notepad Plus to add "single" to cmdline.txt. Rebooted the pi and then edited the etc/passwd file to remove the "#". Then I changed the cmdline.txt back to what it was.

Re: Bad advice to mess with /etc/passwd

I can't edit etc/passwd to remove '#' as I now don't have authority. I don't have another Linux machine. So how can I follow your advice and boot in single user mode?

Bad advice to mess with /etc/passwd

I am trying to get Apache2/PHP/MySQL working but on this URL http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Raspberry-Pi-Web-Server It mentions going into .etc/passwd and " Find the line pi:x;1000:1000:Raspberry Pi User,,,:home/pi:/bin/bash and add a # sign to the beginning of it. Now save and exit the file." Which ...

Re: PHP Apache 101

Yes,

I have reduced it to 3 lines in a file called index2.php

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

All 3 lines show as above in Midori

PHP Apache 101

I have just loaded Apache2, mySQL and PHP. I cannot get Apache to recognise my index.php file. It just displays it as raw text. Any ideas what I need to change? It's odd as a hello.php which has php imbedded in html does work. But an index.php with first line of <?php doesn't.

Re: Python not talking to .glade

@Blackjack - taking your advice and quitting on the gtk front. Now switched to Qt4.
In Python 2.7 I can "from PyQt4 import QtGui" OK. But same statement won't work in Python 3.2.

I seem to be steered towards Python 2.7. Although I think I would prefer to work in 3.2 as it's the newer version.

It seems to be release dependent. import gtk will not work in Python 3. But is fine in Python 2. I will switch to using 2!

Re: Python not talking to .glade

Thanks Blackjack. Which command should I use to install GTK.. I thought it would be sudo apt-get install gtk. But that doesn't work.
WIll Qt work with the latest Raspbian Wheezy? For some reason I'm thinking that is only for Arch Linux distro. Again what would be the command to install that.

Maybe I need to start again. From the right place this time. What I want to do is have a GUI front-end and Python code behind it. What is the preferred method of doing this on the RasPi? I have written a simple Adder screen in Glade. If Glade is not the best GUI on the RasPi then which is? I have re...

Python not talking to .glade

I have created my first .glade object. When I go into Python 3 to write the code behind the Glade object it doesn't recognise import gtk or import glade.

What do I need to write in my import statement? If it is gtk then do I need to download or configure something to make it work?

My image is #168 PREEMPT sat Jul 14 18:56:31 BST 2012. The problem I have is how to save to /boot. I am logged as as the default user pi. It won't allow me to save to this folder. Can Flash be downloaded to Debian Squeeze? Is it a good idea even if it can be done? I tried to download it from Adobe. I am not sure if it's downloaded or not TBH. It didn't give me the option to Save As. So if t has downloaded the .tar.gz where will it be? What will I need to do to it? Gunzip?
