Re: Raspberry PI 4 - USB Boot

the question is vavlid as lots of uses require a hard drive or ssd as pi 3 can pi 4 in this pi 4 is not interchanable with pi 3 hence the question thanks you don't get it. lots of uses require a hard drive or ssd, true, but they can do so ALREADY, it just takes an SD-card that is ONLY used for boot...

Re: Supported SSD Solutions ?

Is there any SSD solution that enables you to boot on a SSD disk ? See: Running Raspbian from USB Devices : Made Easy Any other solution, using HAT / addon-board ? And I forgot to add, this would be for Pi 4 Is there some reason you don’t want to try the script from RonR? I’ve used it on my Pi4 wit...

In the US, many Pimoroni products can be purchased at Microcenter stores.

Adafruit also carries many Pimoroni items.

Re: Pi Zero crashing at random. How to diagnose?

what are you running so that it may crash ? Well, that's what I'm trying to figure out. This Pi does very little. It downloads some podcasts and uploads them to my dropbox account. The dropbox script is just a shell script. Other than that, it's plain vanilla. And at the approximate time of the cra...

Pi Zero crashing at random. How to diagnose?

I have a Pi Zero WH that has been crashing/locking up for no apparent reason. That's the state it's in right now. But before I pull the plug I wanted to ask the community what I can look for in the logs or elsewhere to diagnose the cause. details: - using Buster Lite, updated about 12 hours earlier ...

Does your card have Raspbian Buster?

If not, you will not be able to boot. The Pi4 requires Buster (or later).

Does anyone know if this issue also applies to the Pi Zero? Mine has been intermittently locking up for no apparent reason. I have it running headless on Buster lite with the most recent updates. Pi 4 is "half" locked up. How to diagnose?

My Pi 4 is in an odd state at the moment. I can connect vi ssh, but some commands will never respond and some will. df, lsblk, and lsusb are working and return expected results. But ls, ps, sudo shutdown simply hang (or whatever). After typing the command and hitting enter, the command never returns...

Re: Future of raspberry pi - software related

A Raspbian Lite (command line) feature to duplicate the SD card. Maybe an option in raspi-config.

The current feature appears to be exclusive to the Desktop version of Raspbian.

Re: How bad/good is cooling on the Raspberry pi 4?

To get sub 50C temperatures, you'll probably have to look into an active cooling solution. The only other alternative is a large passive heat sink, but depending on the case design, temperature you want to achieve, and the amount of CPU load you want to run this thing continuously on, it may or may...

Re: Future of raspberry pi - software related

I believe there is a handy SD card copier feature but it’s only available with the desktop installation.

I’d like to see this made available from the command line for those of us that use Raspbian lite.

(Or maybe it already is and I missed it?)

Re: How many cores in a Pi 4??

I was wondering if someone knew exactly how many processing cores the Pi 4 has in it's ARM CPU??? Also the speed of each core??? I was thinking that the ideal Pi4 would have 4 or 6 processing cores, 2 GHz per core and 8Gb or 16Gb of RAM. Why I'm saying this is because while the Pi 4 is a major impr...

Hi! If your sd card is more than 32gb, you will need additional software to format it to FAT32. By default windows formats it as exFAT if its more than 32gb. PI cant understand this type.

I hope that person hasn’t been waiting 2 years for your answer.
