Re: pacman database errors

Done, didn't help. Edit: inserting the SD-card in my regular computer and looking at the folder gives the same error about /var/lib/pacman/local/php-fpm-5.4.7-1/ so this is probably not a pacman error but some corrupt folder I got. How do I solve that? Edit2: dmesg told me it had errors and told me ...

pacman database errors

I'm getting this error and don't know how to fix it. I don't know how it happened either. My RPi shut itself down last night for no apparent reason while I was alseep but pacman wasn't running by then. But I did not have this problem yesterday. pacman -Syu still managed to upgrade some other package...

Re: Which distro ?

Take the debian image if you want GUI and stuff preinstalled and ready to go. I myself prefer Arch Linux after having tried them both (not the Pi-versions). But if you already have experience with debian and don't want to mess with something entierly new I would also choose that.

I also just got that mail. However I'm unsure about pre-ordering. I'd like to order when it's in stock. Or can I feel safe if I order now, can they send back the money if something goes wrong?

I'm going for 8GB. It should be enough for OS and some extra storage. I have a usb harddrive too (with external power) and some flashdrives if i need more storage.

Look at the bidding history. Someone increased from £50 to £450. The other boards took small steps between there I guess.

I guess so. You can download the source code on their site. I'm intending to run an nginx webserver on mine.

Arch Linux is my thing. I'm running it on my home computer (not headless) and I will use it headless on the RPi.

I'm quite sure LXDE is the lightest Desktop Environment. Don't know of any lighter at least. Then there are Window Manager that are very light that i prefer.

1xCase £20
50m CAT5E £6.43
CAT5E is made for gigabit speeds, RPi only has a 100mbit network card. So you can buy a cheaper cable.

Also, build your own case :D

I can seed as well, 24/7. I\'m slightly annoyed by Linux-distros that doesn\'t have any official torrent so I can\'t seed for them! I\'m sure someone will create a torrent if the R-Pi crew doesn\'t make an official one.
