Can pi run .hex files from arduino

Hi there

Im putting together some gaming libraries for people who want to build thier own games. The existing platforms include esp32 and teensy3.x. I would like to expand the current libraries to include pi.

Is it possible for the raspberry to emulate arduino hardware to play diy games?

Re: Gpio buttons

Ok the adafruit stuff says to use these pins

Pin 11= Up -changed to 15 because of TFT
Pin 12= down
Pin 13 = left
Pin 7 = right

Pin 9 = ground

40 = A
38= B
37 = X
36 = Y

Then add 16 for left shoulder and 28 for right shoulder so I'm using 1 different and two added.

Gpio buttons

I'm trying to build a handheld game console using a Pi 3 and a 3.5 TFT LCD. I was originally using a 2.8 but the one I bought would not work with the Pi 3. I'm using the tutorial found here...... http://www.instructables.com/id/20-Portable-Raspberry-Pi-Game-Console/step5/Setup-the-Buttons-D-Pad-A-B-...

Re: Super thin handheld

I ran into a problem. The TFT uses a couple of the inputs needed for buttons.

Am I right that I can use any other GPIO that's not being used?

Re: Super thin handheld

Ok I'm thinking my best bet to attach the screen to the Pi is to...... Take the Pi 3 and push it through the protoboard and solder the appropriate wires needed for buttons and such. Then I could drill the holes out bigger and stuff the wires through and back then attach them to the LCD which will be...

Re: How do I get the ~ character raspbian jessie

Happens to me wether i use my wireless keyboard or my old fashioned USB keyboard.

Either way you dont get all the characters needed to fully program a
Pi on one layout.

One layout may have a few characters you need but then you have to go through the process again to get other characters.

Re: How do I get the ~ character raspbian jessie

Yes but trying to figure out which keyboard option has the right character you need is the problem. I went through at least twenty before eventually just emailing the lines i needed to use. It would make things easier to have a set keyboard layout that has all the (correct) characters you will need ...

Re: Super thin handheld

I got a hold of my seller last night for my screen and they say it doesn't work with Pi 3. So I can either by a 3.5 screen and keep using my Pi 3 or buy another Pi zero.

I think I'm just gonna buy a 3.5. They don't have the break outs but that's ok.

Re: Super thin handheld

Do I have to use a 2.8 adafruit type display? Could I use a 3.5 display? I would still use the same button pins right?

Re: Super thin handheld

Ok so I did some looking around and the tutorial has these pins hooked up.......

1, 2, 6, 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24,

But the data sheet says to also hook up 18 and 26,

Could these being hooked up be part of my problem?

Re: Super thin handheld

It was missing the commands to install or download cmake so that fixed that. I switched over the adafruit tutorial and have followed it to a T but I can't get my TFT to display. It powers up though. I double checked tthe Pi with a separate card preloaded with a 4 inch screen and it's not the Pi. I c...

Re: Super thin handheld

Ok so I'm still using the instructables tutorial and part of it said to enable device tree from the advanced menu but I could not find an option declaring itself to enable device tree.

I tried using the update tool feature but no go.

Re: Super thin handheld

Ok i want more buttons than the tutorial gives credit to.

From what i can tell the pins actually marked gpio for example gpio 26, seem to be the pins that can be used as buttons.

Can i add more buttons to to the pins described above? Like for two shoulder buttons?

Re: Super thin handheld

I feel kind of stupid...... I forgot my Mame cocktail cab was a computer. I just slipped the disk in and plugged my card reader in. Re: Super thin handheld

I'm at an impasse, my laptop refuses to let me format the sd card. The laptop registers that there is something there but won't show up on the Panasonic disk formatted that comes with all my LCD's. I have a fully set up portable Pi 3 though, any one know of a way or any programs I can download to it...

Use Pi to burn raspbian to sd

I'm trying to set up a new card for a project I'm building and my computer refuses to register and download drivers. It was working just fine but now doesn't. I tried a couple different as cards that I know function but no go. I do have a working Pi 3 set up though. Is there a set of programs that I...

Re: Super thin handheld

If one were to become available, how many would be interested in a board that was a plug and play all in one PCB that all one would have to do is add your Pi your TFT, battery and maybe a built in stepup/charger.

Re: Super thin handheld

I used the side panel of the TFT in stead of the pins to wire it. Had to drill the holes out a lil on the pprotoboard then patiently fed the wires through the top and the carefully knotted them with the Teflon coating snug against the TFT board. Left the connectors on too for easy testing. But now I...

Re: Charging units?

Sorry buy power I meant portable power like a power boost that's only good for the earlier Pi versions Lol that's where I buy all my electronics. But I usually only buy from American sellers since I live in the US. That's good to know about the other stuff I completely understand. Hell if you don't ...

Any body got a good charger set up? I was gonna use my powerboost 1000 with the Pi zero but the 3 needs more amperage.
