Re: Kernel 4.2 on R-Pi?

Yes, what happened to that image? I cannot find a Ubuntu Mate 15.10 image, nor a Raspbian with earlier kernel. I've had both, and it worked there. I don't have then anymore. But surely they must be somewhere out there??

Re: Kernel 4.2 on R-Pi?

Hi! I'm using my R-Pi for astrophotography, and since upgrading to kernel 4.4 in Ubuntu Mate, one of my cameras stop working. Dmesg gives: [ 73.483200] usb 1-1.5.7: new high-speed USB device number 8 using dwc_otg [ 78.503283] usb 1-1.5.7: device descriptor read/8, error -110 [ 83.633294] usb 1-1.5....

Kernel 4.2 on R-Pi?

Hi! I need an ubuntu version for my R-Pi 2 with kernel 4.2, not 4.4 (because of module problems) but I cannot find an image for Ubuntu Mate 15.10, or a version of Raspbian with lower versions than 4.4, nor any linux-images to install. Anyone can point me to where I find either a distro (mate or rasp...

Screen size too small on Rpi3, Ubuntu Mate

Hi! Just installed Ubuntu Mate 15.10 on a Raspberry Pi 3 B, and all seems to work, except a screen detail. The screen is a Samsung smart TV with HD resolution. However, the R-Pi uses a screen resolution that is too small, 1824 x 984, instead of 1910 x (what it should be). So there is a black border ...

Re: Wifi speed?

Hi! OK, now I got me one of these: http://www.modmypi.com/raspberry-pi/accessories/wifi-dongles/wifi-dongle-ultra-long-range-high-gain-w-5dbi-antenna/?gclid=CMPmm9PK_MoCFewW0wodqnIFIA It should be able to produce 150 MB/s. And I have the R-Pi ow 2 m from the AP. But still get only 53 MB/s. THe AP is...

Re: Wifi speed?

But...second thoughts: Part of the mystery here, is that even when I place my R-Pi directly beneath the AP (2 meters from it), the wifi speed is maybe 50 MB at best. Far from any 150 Mb. that this device SHOULD be able to produce. Right now, it sits there, nothing between the Pi and the AP, 2 meters...

Re: Wifi speed?

Hi! Wired is what I need to do now, but having a cable run through a slightly open door and leaving it there the whole night is not exactly the elegance I was after....;) As for distance, we are talking some 10-15 meters, but there us a wall between the AP and the Pi when it is outdoors, however, no...

Re: Wifi speed?

Hi! Now I've been experimenting a lot. I've upgraded my accesspoint, so my laptop consistently has 144 Mb/s in speed. I've upgraded the Pi to latest Raspian, and tried with various USB extension cables, so it is free of other cables and other stuff. However, not good results. At best, it is up to 34...

Autostarting an application on raspian?

Hi!

How do I make an application (non gui) autostart on boot in raspian? I've found a few suggestions on the internet, but they're all a bit old.

Wifi speed?

Hi! I'm fairly new to the Raspberry Pi, using it for astronomy purposes (controlling my telescope). It is critical for me to have as fast wifi connection as possible from the Pi to my LAN. Right now I have a wifi dongle, according to lsusb it is Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapter. My p...
