Re: Reading a 1-wire DS18B20 temperature sensor using OWFS

have you tried the owpython package for OWFS? I'm trying to get a similar setup as you have described, but i've never done python or anything with 1wire before. Is the owpython binding just a way to talk to OWFS without mounting and dealing with directory trees?

Re: HVAC Controller

i have read negative things about OWFS being too stressful on 1-wire chips, which is why I was considering rolling my own with pyonewire. But I have no concrete reason to not use OWFS

HVAC Controller

For my EE senior project, I am planning on building a commercial-style HVAC controller that will monitor multiple zones and turn the air handlers on and off. I want it to have a web-based interface for controlling times and temperature setpoints. Right now my thoughts are on an RPi using 1-Wire temp...

Re: Weather Pi

thanks for the info. Does your package have the ability to write to devices?
In particular i'm looking at the DS2408 to control a set of relays.
Alternatively do you have any experience with OWFS?

Re: Weather Pi

could you talk more about how you're talking to the 1-wire interface?
I'm looking into using 1-wire with an RPi for my EE senior project and don't really know where to start with it.
