PowerShell ... what benefit there is to you compare to scripting in Bash?
there is a comparison with a focus on security, maybe this helps.

Bash is open source - you can create variants of it
PowerShell is open source too.
Admitted this happened not so long ago but is from my view the right approach all software should use

@ssfdre38, a currently proposed merge for .NET core "[Arm/CI] Add hardfp build to arm32_ci_script.sh #12577" https://github.com/dotnet/corefx/pull/12577 and an existing PowerShell issue would seem related. https://github.com/PowerShell/PowerShell/issues/1635 mentions ARM already 'OS: Windows or Unix...

Re: Powershell for Raspbian?

i tested powershell onto my test raspberry pi and it doesnt look like it will support it all. Even if you try to build it from source it will stop you right away cause its not an x64 processor As there are new (alpha) versions every 2 weeks or so, do you remember what version (i.e. v6.0.0-alpha.8) ...

a lot of Windows developers & admin people have Powershell skills acquired over the last 10 years but they lack similar skills for using bash. Is that a good enough answer?

Teaching Java Programming to Kids, Parents and Grandparents

Hi,
just read an article about 'Teaching Java Programming to Kids' on http://www.infoq.com/articles/Teaching-Kids-Java with a free download for ebook on http://myflex.org/books/java4kids/java4kids.htm that I found useful.

Re: Minidlna 1.1.2 is released. apt-get installed 1.0.24

Hi rbiks,

adding the missing "#" made the insserv: warning disappear.

Appreciate the hint about using /etc/rc.local which seems the equivalent of MS-DOS autoexec.bat I'm familiar with :D
I'll explore this approach further.

Thanks

Re: Minidlna 1.1.2 is released. apt-get installed 1.0.24

Hi rbiks,

Thanks for your help and apologize for the delay caused by my vacation.

I added the lines as told and executed the command

root@pi:/etc/init.d# insserv bootup
insserv: warning: script 'bootup' missing LSB tags and overrides

Is this the expected result?

Thanks Michael
