Re: Camera could not initialize when I set of a buzzer.

Ah, nevermind. I think I found the problem.
I was initializing the camera inside a library which I used in a program running in the background.
But when I was setting the pin to high, I included this library, so two processes were accessing the camera...

sorry.

Check gpio pin status without "touching it"?

I have a program running in the background that sets pins to high/low (sets them as output).
But I want to create another program running as another process that checks the status of the pins, if they are high or low.
Is it possible to do this in a way that it won't interfere with the 1st program?

Camera could not initialize when I set of a buzzer.

My pi camera stops on my RPI zero working when I execute the code: import RPi.GPIO as GPIO GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM) GPIO.setwarnings(False) GPIO.setup(23, GPIO.OUT) GPIO.output(23, GPIO.HIGH) I've got my active buzzer (those small round black ones) connected directly to pin 23 and GND. The buzzer star...

Re: How much do relays stress the Pi?

Drawing how much current from the 5V pin is safe for long-term usage?
I know there is no definite answer, but maybe just an approximation what current I better should not exceed for lets say I month?

How much do relays stress the Pi?

I'm making a element, where my RPi zero turns on/off 4 relays (REES52 Optocoupler 4 Channel 5V Relay Module). I want my circuit to work constantly for as long as possible (ideally for several years) and the relys will be powered on for about 50% of the time days at a time. Is it OK to connect the re...

Problems connection to bluetooth RPi zero W

I'm having problems connecting to my arduino + bluetooth module. Here is what I have tried: pi@zeropi:~ $ sudo bluetoothctl [NEW] Controller x : x : x : x : x : x zeropi [default] [NEW] Device y:y:y:y:y:y Moder [bluetooth]# info y:y:y:y:y:y Device y:y:y:y:y:y Name: Moder Alias: Moder Paired: no Trus...

Re: Sensing leds, 7-segment displays...

I've took a picture of the controller, the leds, display and buttons are visibe.

One possibility would be to glue a bunch of photoresistors to the display on it and read the data through them. possibly through a multiplexor...

Re: Sensing leds, 7-segment displays...

Thanks! I'll take a look into opto-isolators. OK, lets say that that the leds voltage is 24v to 22.5v. and lets say that the pi's ground is about the same as the heat pumps ground (although not connected). Couldn't I just connect the - (minus) pin of the leds to the ground pin of the Pi so the leds ...

Sensing leds, 7-segment displays...

I have a primitive heat pump for my house heating and I want to automate it a bit with my pi. It has a few buttons, a few led light (compressor on/off,...) and a 4 digit 7-segment display showing the temperature. I am wondering how will I read all the data (leds, 7-segment display) and simulate butt...

Re: No HDMI output RP2 B

Regarding my problem: thanks for the help. There was a problem with the unit. I sent it back and got a replacement which worked on my first try.

Re: No HDMI output RP2 B

OK, I should get a 1.8A supply...

So it is possible that the leds are on, but the Raspberry still does not have enough power to boot, because I am using a 1A adapter? Will try to buy a 1.8A adapter.

Well, I have tried 2 different USB cables, 2 different AC -> USB adapters (both 5V 1A, original iPhone one, and Samsung one) and through my laptop USB plug.

Re: No HDMI output RP2 B

Still does not work using the Pi-Baker. Tried both NOOBS & Raspbian IMG & downloaded Raspbian Lite IMG, still no light blinking.
Tomorrow I will try on my friends Windows laptop, perhaps a third SD card.
After that I will send the unit back. Does that make sense?

Re: No HDMI output RP2 B

I've read the post and still cannot figure it out. What I am confused about is: " There should be no "1" or other number at the end of the destination name." But my destination is /dev/disk2 (/dev/rdisk2) (Mac OS X). Besides that, I have followed the manual, tried it on 2 DS cards (old SanDisk 8GB a...

No HDMI output RP2 B

I've purchased a new Raspberry Pi 2 B and am not able to boot it. When I connect to my TV there is a "no signal" sign. What I've tried: - 3 different screens (new 2015 tv, old 2008 tv, computer screen with HDMI->DVI cable) - replaced the HDMI cable - replaced the SD card on the SD cards I have sever...
