Raspberry Pi 3 available!

I've just ordered two RPi 3s from RS. They have about 23,000 in stock.

They are supposed to be available from other suppliers.

The brownish stuff on some joints sounds like soldering flux. It should have been cleaned off during manufacture, but it won't do any harm. The correct solvent is iso-propyl alcohol.

I gave a talk on the RasPi to the Hastings Radio and Electronics Club last night. There was a good turnout and it went quite well. Only a couple of members actually had boards, but they had all heard of it.

Everything you need to know is in the PIC data sheet. You should have a serial comms library included with the compiler which will make things easy.

Have a look at the Philips 227E4LHA, I got one some time ago from PC World. I think it has everything you are after, and isn't expensive.

China is the only other place that Pis are manufactured. They are coloured red and only sold in China, AFAIK.

I wouldn't be surprised if the PCBs are fab'ed in China.There are numerous suppliers that they they could use.
