Raspbian Buster editing file over network corrupts file contents?

I've noticed an apparent bug(?) with Buster, when I select a file through File Manager on another computer (Pi) on my network it allows me to edit the file and save it, but when I try to re-open the file later I find that the contents are corrupted, either garbage characters or the contents are only...

Redirect serial input e.g. /dev/ttyUSB0 TO terminal? SOLVED

Hi I've been searching for a way to redirect serial input (for example /dev/ttyUSB0) to the terminal console, so anything coming FROM an external device gets echoed to the screen, as if it is being typed. Is this possible? All I can seem to find is how to redirect stuff TO the serial port... thanks ...

Re: Unstable driver (?) for wireless keyboard and mouse..

Yes I have several wireless Rapoo mouse and keyboards, I have had same problem with mouse freezing. As Andyroo said, put the USB adapter on an extension cable and place it closer to your mouse. This has fixed it for me. It seems to be due to interference from the USB 3.0 ports - which explains why i...

Re: Mouse Issues

Try plugging the mouse usb adapter into a usb extension lead, and placing the adapter closer to your mouse (and away from the pi)

I've had similar issues with wireless mice on a Pi 4 - this has fixed it. it seems to be interference off the usb 3.0 ports

Re: PI 4 causing wifi mouse dongle freeze. Heat-related? (SOLVED)

I think I have fixed the problem. I have put the USB dongle on an extension lead so it is closer to the mouse/keyboard combo and further away from the PI 4, I have not seen any mouse freezes since doing this. It seems that the problem is interference from the PI4. Looking at other forum posts, it ma...

Re: Pi4 - formatting external 2.5 HDD causes mouse issues

Not related to your usage, but I'm seeing mouse freezes using 2 different wireless mice on raspbian buster / pi 4.

Rapoo wireless mouse and keyboard (With usb dongle)

VerY annoying and only unplugging the usb dongle unfreezes the mouse. These units work fine on jessie/stretch/pi2s/pi3s

Re: PI 4 - can't change desktop resolution VGA

Just to clarify, setting via EDID doesnt work with this VGA adaptor as it doesnt return any information to the pi.

Tvservice -n is blank

Xrandr works perfectly if you know the output modes of the monitor

PI 4 - can't change desktop resolution VGA

Hi Been having a right old fight this evening, setting up my PI 4 through a pi-hut VGA adaptor. Its connected to an ACER widescreen VGA monitor and it worked fine on my PI 2. However on the PI4 none of the different DMT modes seem to make the slightest difference to the desktop - it always looks lik...

PI 4 causing wifi mouse dongle freeze. Heat-related?

I've been having some odd issues with a Rapoo wireless mouse and keyboard (+usb dongle) on my PI 4. This combo has been used for a couple of years on a PI 3B+ with no issues. Even with a new battery in the mouse I've been getting frequent mouse freezes (although the keyboard works). The only fix is ...

Any idea how to fix? perl: warning...

I have a similar problem with a Zero running Stretch. i've tried many times to update but always get the hash failed issue. Re: Getting IP from headless RPi

What I've done on some pi-based 'mars rovers' I've built is write a script that gathers the pi's local IP address ("hostname -I")after boot-up, and flashes an LED on the rover according to the last 3 digits of the local IP (the 192.168.0. bit is a given) so if the IP was 192.168.0.15 it would flash ...
