Dimensions/3D files for official Pi Zero case?

I'd like to construct a mount for the official Pi Zero case to attach it to my 3D printer. However, since it is rather curvy, I find it hard to construct a good fit that will grip the case. Therefore I was wandering whether there are any dimensional drawings or 3D/CAD files of the case (exterior wou...

Don't forget to also give the new user sudo rights before deleting the pi user.

I must apologise to everybody interested for taking so long to reply. I've been rather busy recently. English installation instructions are now up at https://bitbucket.org/m_reiter/klima/src/default/INSTALL_en.md. Corrections or improvements are happily accepted. Super interesting. Re: Security - Delete pi or No?

FWIW, I've deleted the pi account on all 4 of my Pis and haven't had any problems with that.

If you want to open your Pi for ssh from the outside, I'd suggest only allowing public key authentication - and to use keys with a reasonable strong pass phrase.

Not quite a kit but http://www.nand2tetris.org might offer at least part of what you're looking for.

Re: Owncloud Reverse Proxy with Nginx

I would try commenting out the "proxy_redirect" line. If that still doesn't work, comment out everything except the "proxy_pass" line and see whether that works. If it does, reenable the other lines one by one to see which one breaks it. Good luck!

That's what I thought was the "upstream" repo. Is popcornmix also involved in creating the Raspbian package?

Re: Why does omxplayer depend on libsmbclient?

I freely admit I'm not too familiar with the repository structure or the Raspbian/Debian packaging process. Since I would consider this a packaging problem, I don't think reporting it on the omxplayer site itself would be appropriate. If you could give me a hint as to which repo you were thinking of...

Re: Owncloud Reverse Proxy with Nginx

While haproxy might be the right solution for your case, I have also had success in using nginx in the way you described (for some locations, while others are served locally). If you share your configuration, I can at least compare it to mine and check for obvious differences.

Re: Why does omxplayer depend on libsmbclient?

To some extent, yes, thank you! I still don't quite understand why omxplayer includes its own version of libavformat instead of depending on libavformat57 why the included version of libavformat links against various SMB libraries although that functionality doesn't seem to be used in omxplayer.

Why does omxplayer depend on libsmbclient?

Can anybody explain this dependency to me? I didn't find anything in the omxplayer man page that suggests SMB client functionality in the player itself.

Re: Which GUI language to use?

If you've programmed in Python before and don't want anything too fancy, I'd suggest going with Tkinter - should be flexible enough for your needs and has a rather gentle learning curve. I haven't tried many others, though, so there might be even easier solutions.

Re: Can't access RPI on outside network! (Using No-IP)

You probably need to forward your router's port 8080 to port 80 on your Pi's IP - or configure your web server to listen on port 8080 as well.

Re: Mystery... Program and browsing history disappeared!?

I've never experienced it myself but I've read reports of faulty SD-cards setting themselves into some kind of read-only mode. If you create any files now and reboot, are the files still there? If not, I suspect that's what happened to you and would recommend getting a new SD-card.

To me, this looks suspiciously like a corrupted file system. You could try deleting /etc/bash_completion.d/liboff.old and possibly uninstalling libnspr4 and hope to catch all affected files this way. Personally, I'd start over on a new SD card to be on the safe side. Disclaimer: It's absolutely poss...

This looks definitely wrong to me. This is how tty1 looks on all my Pis:

Code: Select all

crw--w---- 1 root tty 4, 1 Dec 22 09:43 /dev/tty1
I'd give changing these access rights a go.

Re: Can't log into GUI

Have you had another look at the X server log file? Has anything changed in there? From the strace output you posted, it looks like the problem was the X server was trying to open TTY1 and failed: open("/dev/tty1", O_RDWR|O_NONBLOCK|O_LARGEFILE) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied) This probably correspo...
