Re: fruitbox MP3 jukebox

Wasn't sure if it was something I didn't do properly. Will pull update and give a go. I use the touchone as was able to enlarge and change text color for better contrast for me, don't see so good any more. :) As a future feature, would it be an option to have a web page control for the button press?...

Re: fruitbox MP3 jukebox

Really nice program, enjoy using it. :) However for me autoplay no longer works. Coming from a cold start after a short delay it will pick a tune and play it. From that point no more autoplay.
Switching back to use a previous fruitbox executable all is fine (ie no other changes)
Any hints?

Re: IR Blaster schedule on/off times

You are correct about the clock but from what you imply is that when you shutdown the TV you are thinking to also shutdown the Pi? To use the crontab the Pi will need to be running and have access to the network so that when it powers up it can obtain the correct time. However, being rude and just k...

Re: IR Blaster schedule on/off times

If the TV is turned off at night with a mechanical timer then you know the current status. The crontab is a simple scheduler that you can set a specific minute, hour, day, week, year to do something. So program crontab to at a certain time of the day (days) to run a script that will transmit the ir ...

Re: fruitbox MP3 jukebox

Re: fruitbox MP3 jukebox

Hi Mike Really enjoying using your program, thank you for sharing. :) I have it in free play most of the time as currently I am only using a keyboard for selections which is a bit unhandy from the couch. I am wondering how difficult it would be to have a web page of the basic wallbox skin and be abl...

Re: IR Blaster schedule on/off times

As a suggestion, let the timer turn the tv off and simply have Pi using crontab send the power command when you want to turn it back on. That would avoid the getting out of sync problem as previously mentioned.

Re: fruitbox MP3 jukebox

Hi Mike Just want to take a moment and thank you for sharing the FruitBox with the world, it is really an awesome program. Having dropped many quarters into the real counter top units, this brings back good (old) memories. :) I have been running the V1.6 on PiZ-W since shortly after you made it avai...

Re: [WIP] RPi Information Screen

Thank you for the MPD code and hints.
I hopefully can thin it down as I was thinking it controlled local music content & maybe some stream with mpd. I like to listen to NPR and the BBC news and use mpd/mpc all the time.

Have a great day!

Re: [WIP] RPi Information Screen

The tip of where the font size was hiding (plain sight) was a bit helpful, dropped it down to 24 and things now fit & look OK It will likely take me a while to figure out the weather plugin... usually I make a copy before mangling the code. :) The perl language is the one causes me major indigestion...

Re: [WIP] RPi Information Screen

I have a Texas Weather System that I pull data from and process. I can then copy the data I need into any form I may require and hopefully something usable by the weather plugin. At one time I did have the ipinfo display however it was in a huge font. Where those little details are located I am stil...

Re: [WIP] RPi Information Screen

Hi again! Thanks for the config tip, I now have pictures coming through and am able to switch between clock / pictures. For some reason I was missing that config folder, most likely my error. I pulled two git files, yours and 9and3r which is where the MPD came from and between the two I was able to ...

Thanks for the prompt reply! I am just trying to get all the basic stuff working at this point using DVI on a Dell monitor, clock works great. Re: [WIP] RPi Information Screen

Hi, I have been trying to make this display work however there seems to be some packages that are needed that I don't have installed. Currently the clock works and the ipinfo sort of works (font sizing) for me. I would like to be able to have the time, weather and the photo show on the display like ...
