Re: Cloud platform for streaming my rpi's CSVs?

I would like to share doing some research, it seems the easiest way the following and free:

my rpi's CSV -> convert to JSON multiline using python -> send to dweet.io (free) -> send to freeboard.io (use free 30 day trial)

how complicated!

Re: Cloud platform for streaming my rpi's CSVs?

Found one (well almost)  IBM Node-red can handle CSVs and can create a dashboard - no idea if you can get it hosted or how stable the CSV handling is as you can get another CSV import https://flows.nodered.org/node/node-red-contrib-bigcsv that also handles multiple lines per record. The...

Re: Cloud platform for streaming my rpi's CSVs?

What creates these CSVs (I am assuming these are comma separated variables)? What type of display do you want? You could go for a dashboard type display using something like https://io.adafruit.com or one of the other free dashboard suppliers. You could use Python and Flask to create your own web p...

So i made a new tutorial: Arch Linux ARM 64 on Raspberry Pi 3 B+ With Full Disk Encryption And SSH Unlock: 2018 Edition the tutorial you made is marvelous, very well detailed 8-) I wonder if it will work for the model 3B (not +...

rpi 3 script for wifi+bluetooth traffic/density of population detection?

Hi there, various very old threads with approximations about this and commercial (quite expensive!) solutions such as Libelium solve this:

is there any rpi script out there that solves this problem?

Thanks in advance

Re: Any tutorial for a 100% completely reliable 3G/4G dongle with GPS?

well this is for a prototype, in case we go finally for a project we will go for the expensive Libelium solutions

I will use a 3G dongle then, or maybe several rpi's connected via wifi to another rpi with a 3G hat

Re: Any tutorial for a 100% completely reliable 3G/4G dongle with GPS?

Thank you guys, there are some 4G dongles you can extract the GPS with a simple command but let's say I dont need GPS anymore since the IoT devices will be stacked not moving What I want to know if the rpi will be reliable to maintain a 3G connection to send a tiny CSV to the cloud (esri arcGIS) eve...

Rpi2B+ not reading from GPIO when using GrovePi

hi there, we got a system that uses the Grovepi Hat working correctly with several grove sensors, however when we connect a CO2 sensor to the GPIO it displays trash, but if we connect directly to the GPIO (without the grovepi hat) it sends the data correctly https://s18.postimg.org/gfgm696mx/13cb776...

Re: Autoexecution of script in .bashrc not working

/etc/rc.local is for SYTEM software, not to run scripts for users. are you running the script in background, or waiting for it to finish? a better place to launch is in the users account as part of the login shell. If you are worried about interlacing text messages, route output to another terminal...

Re: Autoexecution of script in .bashrc not working

If you are going the `rc.local` route and you are running a Jessie based distro, I would follow the advice given in your other thread on how to set up a script to run on system power up. the feature to run at startup with autologin is fixed the problem now is the script runs over and over and doesn...

Not sure if this will help, but try the full path to python instead just python. Try `/usr/bin/python` Sorry that does not work, so far managed to make it work including the script into /etc/rc.local but it has a problem, it is being executed over and over, if press Ctrl+C I have like 1 second to t...

Thanks, I want to run the script after the auto root login, in other words, you plug the current and rpi auto root logins and then auto runs the script, hands free ;)

I think I cannot run the python script without the root login because it has output in the screen ??

This post talks about it: https://fuzon.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=86

so instead of

Code: Select all

/etc/rc.local
which is prior to login, should be

Code: Select all

/root/.bashrc
