anyone tried 4K on Sony 4K TV? I enabled "extended" format on HDMI but the console does not show up at all.

Re: Kodi 15/16 Packages for Raspbian

Check your Kodi log for more information about your problem. There is nothing in the log about this, just some recent activity as usual and I actually think it is just the interface what hangs as I plugged another USB keyboard and kodi logged it straight away ("NOTICE: Found a non joystick" message...

Re: Kodi 15/16 Packages for Raspbian

I have no problems with my NFS shares on RPi + Kodi, although I mount them in RPi instead of using Kodi's builtin NFS stack because it is less buggy and uses less cpu resources. Hm. My Kodi seems to crash more often when debian NFS stack is used rather than Kodi's one :-/ This is how I mount (fstab...

Re: Kodi 15/16 Packages for Raspbian

Noticed an issue with "16.1 Git:2016-04-25-b08ce71-dirty Media Center Kodi". I used to have a USB disk mounted at /mnt/olddisk/ and things were working fine. Then I got orangepi, connected the USB disk there, shared it over NFS and mounted it on raspberrypi at the very same location. And things work...

Re: Kodi 15 Packages for Raspbian Wheezy & Jessie for RPi2

I bet that it is your user "aik" that hasn't the right permissions set. How are you running Kodi, from the desktop, terminal or auto-start at boot ? Are you running Raspbian Jessie ? You can turn the debug on in kodi and check the log file. I got distracted a bit :) The problem is still present on ...

Re: Kodi 15 Packages for Raspbian Wheezy & Jessie for RPi2

My guess is that you didn't followed all the instructions correctly, or something in your system preventing the keyboard from working correctly. Install GKreidl Kodi 15.2 and see if that works for you. Well, the only change i made to those instructions was i replaced the account name (pi to aik) an...

Kodi shows me a virtual keyboard and does not accept chars from the physical USB keyboard, and Kodi15 did not have such an issue. Re: Kodi 15 Packages for Raspbian Wheezy & Jessie for RPi2

Just recently I updated debian wheezy to jessie and by the same time isengard to jervis (15->16), I used this thread for both 15 (compiled by the topicstarter) and 16 (the pplware repo). Almost everything works except every time I need to type something (url to a repo, search box), Kodi shows me a v...

Re: Kodi 15.1-rc1 Debian package for Raspbian on RPi 2

Now I am trying to cast from DVB-T tuner plugged into the same Pi. I configured it via "hts tvheadend 3.4 wheezy" - installed the service and the web interface, it detected the tuner, responds on 9981 port, all good. Then I installed kodi-pvr-tvheadend-hts, started Kodi, found it in "my addons", ena...

Did you use "--blank" for omxplayer? That's the only way I know to play with black borders but Kodi does not seem to pass "--blank" to the player.

Re: Kodi 15.1-rc1 Debian package for Raspbian on RPi 2

xfce desktop? Kodi? What are we talking about. I boot Pi, it starts with XFCE. Then I start Kodi, which is full screen. TV is 1920*1080 (which is 16:9). In Kodi, I navigate to a folder with a movie and start it. Its resolution is 320*240 (whish is 4:3 aspect ratio). The movie starts in full screen ...

gkreidl wrote:I'm sure there are settings on kodi for that, but do you want to distort the image? Spreading a 4:3 video across a 16:8 screen looks weird, IMHO.
It is weird indeed, I want to keep 4:3 and just fill the free spaces on the left and right with black to hide these parts of the xfce desktop.

Re: Kodi 15.1-rc1 Debian package for Raspbian on RPi 2

So I installed raspbian and the packages from the starting post, everything installed nicely, thanks!
However there is a nit - if a video file has 4:3 aspect ration, there are parts of a desktop visible on the left and right sides when it plays. Is that fixable?

Re: yet another omxplayer gui

I fixed 2 and 3 by switching the main frame to fullscreen and setting its "bg" to "black". The issue #1 still remains and I got a new one: sometime for no good reason, the omxplayer either - refreshes the screen (I can tell it from the TV reports - it shows new screen resolution which never changes)...

Re: Kodi 15.1-rc1 Debian package for Raspbian on RPi 2

It may depend on the version of installed packages/libraries. I suppose you have to compile your own version or switch to Raspbian. Heh. This linux, this is tricky. I cloned their git and followed instructions for LTS and got: aik@aikrpi:/mnt/hugeolddisk/rpi/xbmc$ sudo apt-get build-dep kodi ... E:...

yet another omxplayer gui

Got RPI2B with ubuntu 14.04.02 on it. Tried a bunch of gui wrappers on top of omxplayer, do not like any (kweb is the closest but still far away from the simplicity I am after). So I tried writing my own in python3 (very basic knowledge), the script is there (cannot attach here - this forum does not...

Is standalone omxplayeromx still supported? The instructions from the pdf mention a installomxplayergui script which is not in the package.
