Local Video Kiosk

I have a Raspberry Pi 2 B hooked up to a Microsoft Lifecam and an HDMI monitor, end goal is to display the Webcam on the Monitor in real-time. I used MJPG-Streamer to capture video, output to HTTP, and set omxplayer to view localhost and it works great, except it's about 3 seconds behind live. Is th...

Re: Xash3D Engine on Raspberry Pi

I wonder if the new OpenGL drivers for Pi 2 will make Xash perform better than having to work around GLShim?

Minecraft Redux

http://pastebin.com/Psyg5bpa Using a bit of GLShim trickery, I've been able to get Minecraft PC booted by rebuilding LWJGL without GL 1.3-1.4 support, and am able to get to the Mojang splash before Java craps the bed and I sniff the pastebin off the console. Big thanks to Lumixbochs and Ptitseb, for...

Re: Can I download Chrome OS to the raspberry pi?

With the new Driver, would it be possible to make a better port? Chrome / Chromium OS is built for ARMv7 or x86, the Pi is ARMv6 so like Android would take a lot of work to be usable.. Guys in the Chromium OS Dev Mailing list implied that it could be done with a reset compile, especially since Hexx...

Okay, so code has been downloaded, so how can I get it to build for an Armv6 as opposed to the ARM v5?

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

moocow1452 I would think the BBB should be capable of a improved port given the newer, faster ARM rev and the GPU is supposed to be superior for polygon generation, although, the optimizations ric_rpi has used may negate this advantage. Okay. So where would I start poking around in order to see how...

Re: WIP: Playable Nintendo 64 Emulator Available

Currently I'm trying to monkey around with the Beaglebone Black to see if I can port the n64 code over in a more stable fashion than the Pi would allow. No luck thus far, build chokes up on the bcm_host file and I can't find hide or hair of the source of the Ari64 version used to put it to ARM. Any ...

Forgive me for asking the dumb question, but what's the difference between something like this and RetroPie, since I know Retroarch based projects on the Pi is nothing new. Is this just a formal guide?

Same here, managed to get it to the blue settings screen without having to SSH, but even starting xbmc from there after changing wireless does nothing. Too bad Raspbmc freezes every time I sneeze on it in my experience.

Re: HOWTO: YouTube on the Raspberry Pi - sans X B-)

Think I finally got a project for coding, I want to see if I can hack together a Blip and a Put.io version of youtube-dl, to get my channel awesome fix from that sort of interphase, since xbmc is a PITA to set up properly. No clue how to do it, but such is life.

Re: HOWTO: YouTube on the Raspberry Pi - sans X B-)

Figured it out, from the top; So, we have to download it here: https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/raw/2012.02.27/youtube-dl wget https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/raw/2012.02.27/youtube-dl Then we have to manually install it: chmod +x youtube-dl cp youtube-dl /usr/bin/youtube-dl Now we need to instal...

Been trying to port this to Android using xperia64's modded version of the NX engine (http://www.cavestory.org/forums/index.p ... r-android/) But the sounds keep on hanging up. Think we could combine our powers to get a proper port over?

Right now, I'm using the awesome Remote to VLC app for Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.peterbaldwin.client.android.vlcremote&hl=en) which acts as a streaming media player, but in reality points a VLC install on my Lappy to the file over the HTTP interface, and plays on the...

Firewire (!)

Is there any way I can add firewire to a raspberry pi without breaking the bank, trying to work with my Cable Box (Motorola DCT6412) to turn it into a sling box like interphase, and short of getting a second hand Mac Mini, I have no idea how to use that protocol and stream to other computers.

Thanks for the backing. I'm thinking it is possible with the Pi, but I don't know if it needs a full board to work, or if you can just make a dumb speaker / mic combo.
