Re: Interface is down when router is rebooted

Shame on me!

I forget to do:

Code: Select all

systemctl daemon-reload
And then restart networking...!

Re: Interface is down when router is rebooted

Because it doesn't know that you want to use a static address so you need some sort of DHCP client. So does it ignore at all the file interfaces? How can I let it know that I want to use a static address, and don't need dhcp at all? root@raspberrypi:~# egrep -v "#|^$" /etc/network/interfaces source...

Re: Interface is down when router is rebooted

sudo apt-get purge raspberrypi-net-mods That removes the RPF stuff and gets you back to running stock standar But I had done that before: root@raspberrypi:~# LANG=C dpkg -l raspberrypi-net-mods dpkg-query: no packages found matching raspberrypi-net-mods Why does it insist on using isc-dhcp-client? ...

Re: Interface is down when router is rebooted

Raspberrypi-net-mods is a monster pain in the tail. They concentrated on making it work for the GUI (dhcp users, dynamic address and a WiFi client) and forgot the users who run their RPis as headless servers with static addresses Yup, I agree with you. Some years ago, I think it was easier configur...

Re: Interface is down when router is rebooted

But is now mandatory to use dhcpcd?

Anyway, I've tried replacing auto by allow-hotplug in eth0 line, and now it seems works fine... I will tell you how now it goes on....

I thought that raspberrypi-net-mods it was a problematic package...

Thanks in advance

Interface is down when router is rebooted

Hi, Whenever router is rebooted the RPI 2 lost its link, and the only way I have is poweroff in a "dirty way", I mean unplugging the power wire. Errors I see on syslog are: Nov 18 17:47:23 raspberrypi dhcpcd[8209]: dhcpcd not running Nov 18 17:47:23 raspberrypi kernel: [23431.482929] smsc95xx 1-1.1:...

Cannot use auditd

Hi,

When I launch auditctl it outputs an error, for example:

Code: Select all

auditctl -w /etc/passwd -p wa -k passwd_changes
Error sending add rule data request (Invalid argument)
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Logjam

Hi folks,

Is there a way to mitigate Logjam vulnerability in Raspbian? AFAIK apache 2.2.x does not support SSLOpenSSLConfCmd which is needed to prevent it.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi, I'm a linux professional since more than 15 years, but a completely newbie in connection with Raspberry Pi.

I've enchanted with this project!

I like free software, Fedora, and OpenWrt and many more FLOSS projects.

Keep in touch, and may the force be with you!
