Re: Eclipse on Buster - Solutions?

I con'd a friend of mine into upgrading to Buster and VSCode. He got it done, and just like me, once he got VSCode 1.32 installed and started it VSCode locked up with a blank screen. He increased swap size, still no joy. When I went through these steps, an after I got the blank screen on 1..32 I ran...

Re: VSCode Require Larger Swap File

Yes. All this increasing swap file stuff is relative to the Pi-3 because of the 1 gig limit. I realize that, and am not expecting to have my cake and eat it too. I just have a small pile of Pi-3's ( some still in the box )) and wanted to get a little development done on them. I was NOT expecting VSC...

VSCode Require Larger Swap File

If your thinking about installing VSCode for JAVA development with some of it's needed extensions, you had better increase your swap file zie to at least 400mb. Otherwise it will appear to hang. Actually what's going on is the swap file is thrashing and nothing else much gets one. If you plan on doi...

Google has much stuff.
The procedure on you page seems to be tied to Sketch.
Can you help me get t installed on Buster?
ALL the Google blogs are incorrect! The point to repo's with no vscode installs.

Re: Fixing Eclipse on Buster

Oh wow! Oh well ... VSCode it is. I guess.

So, do you mind helping me short the discovery phase of getting VSCode going for Java development on the Pi?
First off and mainly I guess what plugins are you using in VSCode on the Pi?
Any info is much appreciated.

Re: Installing the Flatpak on Raspberry

I'm just trying my best to following the instruction in the responses sent back to me. I'm new to how all the repos (especially for monodevelop) are organized and how to manipulate my repo config file to get the desired results. I don't doubt there may be several nuances to this. I just haven't lear...

Re: Installing the Flatpak on Raspberry

Don't plan on wrecking my system. That's the reason I asked. I was hoping for a straight forward answer.
So you're refering the repository source config files? Correct?

If so I have already been editing them. I just needed to make sure.

I'm a little new to this.

Latest Monodevelop

I'm currently running version 5.1.0 of Monodevelop.
Is this the latest official release?
If not, by what mechanism should I use to ensure I'm running the very latest?
apt-get update and upgrade?

Display variables in hexidecimal

It appears that Monodevelop does not have the option to display variables in hexadecimal. Neither in the variables window or the Watch window.
Is the support really lacking or am I missing something.
If the support is really missing are there plans to add it?

Mono, C# and GPIO

Does anyone know if the current Mono/C# libraries for the Rapberry GPIO will also work on the latest Pi 2 B? The reason ask is I have a python project that works fine, but when I ported it over to C# I can't seem to read inputs. I can't seem to put any given pin into input mode. When I put a pullup ...

Re: rs485

I received my USB RS-485 converter and hope to get busy coding as soon as I can. Does the RBP already have the driver included or do I need to download it form somewhere? If so where.

Does you code show how to turn the line around to transmit?

Thanks once more.

Re: rs485

I've downloaded your code and will look at it. The code title implies PIC (very familiar with PIC products) but I'm only interested in the RBP code that communicates with the 485 converter. Which module has the RBP code that opens the 485 converter port and communicates with it?

Re: rs485

Your post on the RS-485 seems to come the closest to what I'm looking for so I have a few questions for you. The "cheeper" adapter/converter you are referring to. Exactly which converter is that. Can you be exact please. Also do you have any 'C' or 'C++' code for connecting to the converter? I'm a s...
