Please keep the thread to the Pi range of boards. The mods do delete posts / lock threads that are not Pi related.
Well, thanks for the warning. But this is 100% Pi related. Box86 is a software (https://github.com/ptitSeb/box86 ) that can be built and run on RPi.

Re: Anyone thought about undertale on raspi?

I'll do a shameless plug here: I am able to launch the linux x86 version of Undertale on a Pandora using Box86 and gl4es (I assume gl4es may not be needed on RPi if using the mesa OpenGL driver). Did you try that way (it's a bit too slow on the Pandora, because the 1Ghz CPU is too weak, but I guess...

There is an open source re-implementation of HalfLife on the net.
I'm pretty sure there are some thread ere already, with some succes story.

I have my own fork there: https://github.com/ptitSeb/xash3d and the original (and still active) repo is here: https://github.com/FWGS/xash3d-fwgs

Re: Celeste on the Raspberry Pi

Thank you for the testing! The LIBGL_ES=1 should work, but an EGL_BAD_MATCH.... Maybe we can fix that. If you could do the same test again, but rebuild gl4es with th line 40 of src/glx/glx.c uncommented, to have glx debug info printout. Also, LIBGL_FB=3 should work basically everywhere, but because ...

gl4es will need an GLES2 driver. Not sure is needed to provide GLES2 driver on the RPi (CMA?).

Re: Celeste on the Raspberry Pi

Well, gl4es will not bring much compared to the full OpenGL driver that exist on the RPi. Only thing is gl4es can downsize the texture on the flight to fit max size constraint. But because you resize the Atlas, I don't think it can be really usefull here. Glad to see the method works on more hardwar...

Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

Box86 is a Linux Userspace x86 Emulator with a twist: unlike other solution, this one doesn't need a full chroot environnement to works. The software is very young, so it's still full of bugs and incomplete (or missing) features. What you do with for now: Launch a few Linux games (including Airline ...

Re: Serious Sam: TSE

Nice tuto. I was wondering what was wrong with latest code that broke RPi build, but I think I found it. If you can try with latest sources code from the github repo :) Also, sliglty chnages the build-linux64.sh so you can pass the "-DTFE=true" to it. About the graphical glitches, I'm surprised. On ...

Yeah, I've checked your repo, and it's a nice up-to-date version with all ARM/GLES bits gathered.

Nice work!

Re: How to install/ build/ play Quake 3....

If someone want to try, I added some RPi support to my fork of OpenArena: https://github.com/ptitSeb/OpenArenaPandora.git
After cloning the repo, a simple

Code: Select all

make RPI=1
should build the game.

Re: How to update OpenArena?

You can try to build it from source, using my repo: https://github.com/ptitSeb/OpenArenaPandora.git and using Odroid build option. It should work on RPi2 & Rpi3.

Re: DOSBOX (with glide support)

The odroid version, if it's the version that has glide support, use gl4es for the rendering. So you need an OpenGL driver, either with the beta driver or with gl4es on RPi.

I have to look at SDL to understand how it create it's windows.

Re: gzdoom on raspberry pi

Did you uncomment the line in glx.c? If yes, that's surprising because gl4es is not called at all. The switching to 640x480 is from SDL, not gl4es, and I wonder what is it trying to do. If you compiled stuntcarremake for Linux (not for Pandora), it should try to open a 640x480 windowed + opengl mode...

Re: gzdoom on raspberry pi

Indeed, that meesage comes from SDL, indicating it tries to create an opengl context but failed. Can you try to uncomment line 32 of src/glx/glx.c of gl4es to have for logs, hopefully the logs will be writen somewhere and can be retreive in some way (did you try to redirect the console to a file als...

Re: gzdoom on raspberry pi

@Vanfanel

Did you had some success using gl4es with LIBGL_GL=1 ? It should mainly use dispmanx and not much X11 in this configuration.

Re: gzdoom on raspberry pi

also @Vanfanel, I am curious, how did you compile gl4es if you don't have X11 installed, because X11 is linked and there are a few X11 calls in glx.c?
