Re: Connecting the RPi to mobile network....

If you're using unlimited mobile broadband and have a server at your permanent home, you can setup a vpn between the two, or use reverse ssh tunnel from your summer home to your permanent home.

7. 64-bit kernel and 32-bit userland

Code: Select all

arm_64-bit=1
I'm upgrading a running 18.04 system (upgraded from 16.04) and the above code didn't work.
I use the following instead:

Code: Select all

arm_control=0x200

Re: Ubuntu 19.10 for the Raspberry Pi 4 with a KVM-enabled kernel & Windows 10 guest

I have to say I was very excited to see this post. My two favourite things, raspberry pi and Ubuntu. However I cannot get the image to complete a first boot. All looks good until it gets to installing new bcm2711-rpi-4-b.dtb then it hangs and does nothing. I left it for a good half an hour JIC it n...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Heatsink vs Fan vs Flirc Case

Anyone know where to get Flirc case for RPI4 in UK? I got mine here: https://thepihut.com/products/flirc-raspberry-pi-4-case It really works, just as everyone says. Maximum temp I can get my Pi4 4Gb once I put it into the FLIRC case was 61C, no matter how hard I stress it (at stock, btw...no overcl...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Heatsink vs Fan vs Flirc Case

I've got to wonder how much these metal cases affect WiFi and Bluetooth performance? Great question. Did no before/after test but when switching my mediacenter hardware from Pi 2 to Pi 3 B+ (Pi 2 with external WiFi dongle, Pi 3 B+ with FLIRC case) the WiFi signal was significantly worse than with t...

While I can not guarantee that it will work for you, it works for me! I have a 2.4A Apple charger via a micro-USB to Type C connector, standard USB cable. 1x Samsung SSD 120GB via a very cheap/old adapter on USB3 and I also have Logitech wireless adapter. it all works without any additional power r...

Re: Raspberry pi 4 external usb3 ssd drive

Apologize to revive an old thread, but I'm planning to migrate my home server (mail, dhcp, dns, cups, owncloud, etc.) to raspberry pi 4 and an external ssd drive and my current PSU max output is only 2.4A per port.
Would this be sufficient to power 4GB RPI4 with external SSD?

Thanks.

Merged https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/pull/3100 Should be available via rpi-update. Thank you very much! I will give it a go. This will make multi-seat audio work without an external USB device for sound on the second seat. Now, we just need a full KMS driver that has two devices :) 3D accele...

From personal experience, I'd go with Anker https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072K5SFHG/ ... vDbGQKGWQ5
I use this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MXXOQTE/ ... vDbMXB4K48 for 3 RPIs as home server and they are working fine.

Re: Pi 4 with USB A to C cable

I run RPIs as home server, so wiill there be any problem in the long run to powered RPI4 with usb C converter?
I just don't like to have more unused micro USB, so if the converter would do the job especially for the long run, I'll get that instead.
