That is very much helpful!

Is it possible to compile the kernel with PREEMPT_RT without breaking anything in the Pi in order to reduce latencies that might be causing the CPU to miss reading the limited receive buffer of the MCP2515?

Hi msperl, I have a 5 node CAN network and one node is just broadcasting a stream of frames with a total payload size of 6.5MB. The remaining 4 are just recipients. The bus rate is at 500kbps and I manually tuned the kernel networking parameters pertaining to sockets to adjust the RX buffer size and...
