Re: Pi not booting. "end Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!"

Thanks for the replies. SD card mounts fine on Linux. However, I wouldn't be surprised if system was corrupted due to attempted attack. There were a lot of suspicious visits to the site. When I first set it up nearly three years ago it slowed down massively. After installing WordFence it turned out ...

Re: Pi not booting. "end Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!"

Apologies by power light I was referring to the green LED on my USB keyboard that lights up when it has power. The raspberry pi's red light still works. Both the pi's that fail with the above error work perfectly fine using other SD cards. Ideally though I would like to fix the boot on this SD card ...

Pi not booting. "end Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!"

I am experiencing an issue where my Raspberry Pi 3 is no longer able to boot. The image runs apache, WordPress, NextCloud, and an email server. Everything was working fine for around a month and a half and then today I received a Jetpack report saying the WordPress site was down. Going to the websit...

Re: Nginx freezing / crashing Pi 2

*bump again* Still not resolved this issue. Upgraded to a Raspberry Pi 3 (also previously tried running the site using 2 different Raspberry Pi 2s I own), tried different sd cards, power supplies, and various images (PressPi, Raspbian Lite, YunoHost) again. However, any WordPress site I run using ng...

Nginx freezing / crashing Pi 2

I have had repeated problems when trying to host a Wordpress website using nginx with a Raspberry Pi 2. The website works perfectly fine with apache with no issues at all. However, when using nginx after around two days the website will stop loading and if I leave the Pi running for another half a d...

Re: How to upgrade a Wheezy image to Jessie

Decided to remove the hold and go ahead with the upgrade. Christ almighty it was a headache to get everything working again after. Manually updating wordpress ended up being the easiest issue to solve. Apache 2.4 changed some of the config options you need to set for virtual hosts; had to play about...

Re: How to upgrade a Wheezy image to Jessie

You can try: sudo apt-mark hold wordpress This should prevent apt-get from upgrading wordpress. . Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that results in: The following packages have unmet dependencies: php5 : Depends: libapache2-mod-php5 (>= 5.4.45-0+deb7u2) but it is not going to be installed or liba...

Re: How to upgrade a Wheezy image to Jessie

Planning on upgrading my pi that runs wordpress. However, whenever I run apt-get upgrade it always breaks my site as the wordpress version on the repository is always behind whatever version is currently running on the site. Is there a way to remove wordpress from the list of packages apt-get thinks...

Re: What's killing my Pi2?

Sadly not a spare, just one that I can re-purpose temporarily. It's sadly looking like some key files are corrupted somewhere. It's crashed twice again with card in different pi. Other pi scanning the folders with Plex is still working away no problem, and to further test I have a third pi scanning ...

Re: What's killing my Pi2?

Unfortunately it crashed again overnight. Bit stumped for what to do now to try and fix it? Currently, running a forced reinstall of everything incase a package is not working correctly. If it crashes again after that will swap the micro-SD card into another pi to see if the hardware is an issue. Al...

Re: What's killing my Pi2?

Currently running du -h / | tee ~foldersize.txt to try locate the issue. Edit: It's obviously running too fast to read things in full at the moment but I did briefly spy a tmp directory (didn't have time to read the full directory tree) sitting at 11GB so that'll be getting cleared once du has finis...

Re: What's killing my Pi2?

Aye, I thought that. No idea what's taking up all that space though as apart from Kodi, Plex, etc all the actual files are on the NAS. Apt-get clean got it down to 92%. Edit: Just ran df -h on another pi that I use for bunch of programs that utilize mySQL databases as well as daily, weekly, and mont...

What's killing my Pi2?

I have four Raspberry Pi 2s, three of which run constantly with no issues. However, the fourth, that use to run fine for around six months, has developed an issue where it crashes after seemingly random intervals. Over time I have come to notice that one thing that consistently leads to a crash is w...

Re: Can't get WD MyCloud to mount to Pi

Posting from mobile so apologies for any typos etc. Have you tried mounting with cifs command instead? With the WD EX2 I just needed to put my local IP/share folder for it to work. So my fstab file, using Audio share as example, has been edited to include: //[local.IP]/Audio /home/pi/Audio cifs cred...

Mucous and NCurses

Hi all, I am currently trying to get mucous (a ncurses based client for museek-plus) to work on my raspberry pi. Whenever I start it from the terminal it initially loads fine but after a while the UI will be lost in a garble of text. Tried googling the issue and couldn't find a working solution - a ...
