PiCam & the Pi model 3B

I've just delivery of the Pi NoIR Cam (v2) and i'm trying to get it setup and running with a VLC stream. I've installed UV4L but have found the following; I run the following; uv4l --driver raspicam --auto-video_nr --framerate 25 --encoding=h264 --extension-presence=0 and get the output of; pi@raspb...

Displaying 1080p camera

Would the rpi3 be quick enough to display the video from a Logitech ptz pro 1080p camera without dropping any frames?

Live video to multiple RPis

We have Multi Academy Trust awards evening that we are planning for, it's an evening where we recognise the great achievements by both staff members and students. We'll be livestreaming the event in a lower quality, but i would like to display the live videos on various tvs around the event. I'll be...

433Mhz Techno Line WS-2350

I've just found an unused weather station at our school, it's a Techno Line WS-2350. I'd like to interface the wireless sensor straight to the Pi, I know it runs on the 433Mhz frequency. The problem is I'm unsure on the hardware side of things and how to decode what is being transmitted from the sen...

Using Maplins replacement wind sensors

I'm looking at getting the wind speed and direction to my raspberry pi. Re: Two way communication for an RC boat

i did read it and came to the conclusion you could use 433, not sure how i reached that conclusion so it's back to the drawing board!!

in addition there are now 3DR clones available for a pretty good price. Haven't used them so i'm unsure on the quality.

Re: Two way communication for an RC boat

I'm not sure i follow what your saying. The XRF supports 433, there will be an XRF at both ends.

From reading the materials from Ceisco 433 provides a differing range, doesn't anyone know what sort of impact it would have?

have a look at the products from Ciseco.

http://shop.ciseco.co.uk/rf-module-range/ can support 315, 433, 900 MHz

Re: Two way communication for an RC boat

After a bit more reading it seems the XRF can indeed to 433 which would make it legal in the UK. My plan is to have the raspberry pi on the boat with various sensors, this then sends the data back to another XRF plugged into a laptop. I'll also be able to send the data back to the boat (data being r...

Two way communication for an RC boat

Hi, I'm looking at getting two way communication working with a model boat. I'd like to be able to control the rudder and sail in real time, but also get back telemetry information such as wind speed, gyro and compass info. I've been looking at the RF modules from the Ciseco site and like the look o...

Just a heads up in that this project has been pretty quite for a few months but it's kicking back into action now. So if anyone has any tips or ideas please let us know either on here or on the forums.

Thanks! :)

UART GPS Device

I'm trying to get readings from a Ublox NEO-6M GPS device thats connect via UART serial. I've followed the various guides on the net on how to disable the onboard serial in order to use it to talk to devices. I have the following connections from Neo to the RPi; Neo > Rpi GND > Pin6 VIN > Pin1 TXD >...

Hey, this project is still alive and kicking, I've just been really busy recently with other things. Just wanted to let you guys know I've posted up a poll to decide on what colour the hull should be. Would prefer it not to be white as well, that's boring. Anyway, have your vote! http://autonboat.co...

Re: Auton, The Autonomous Sail Boat

nabber - just took a look at your build thread on autonboat.com - i noticed that you're using the strip planking method - would it not be advisable to stagger the planks - if you terminate all the planks on the same hull form will this not create a weak point at the center of the boat? Much like yo...

Re: Auton, The Autonomous Sail Boat

Certainly interesting ideas. Will have to look into it.

Something I'm struggling with at the minute is getting an accurate wind direction and speed. I've been looking at ultrasonic sensors but there really expensive. Anyone got any ideas?
