Re: Thermal camera

So all I need is to cobble some USB cables together (one of which being OTG) to have the Seek recognized by the Raspberry Pi. Then the camera should be recognized as a USB camera in OctoPi? (I'm sure its not as simple as I made it sound... ) The first bit is fine. I'm using this adapter to connect ...

Re: Hacked case for RPi 2

Nice dremel-ninja work :-)

Various components moved around on layer 3, so we had to change the design, but all cases that shipped from Feb 1st work with Pi 2 and B+. Laser cutters, as always, rule.

If you do have a problem, mail support@pimoroni.com :-)

Re: Thermal camera

Some lovely Canadian was willing to ship a Seek Thermal (Android version) to the UK, since there's no EU shipping yet. Using some adapter cables we had from the Lapdock (MicroUSB Female to USB A Female/USB A Male to USB A Male) this hooked up to the Pi just fine. Then used this code from Github and ...

Re: Stepper Motor Turn Syntax

The other alternative is to treat TurnA as a true rate-of-turn value. So while it is non-zero, the motor is turning at x degrees per second.

Otherwise PositionA/DirectionA/PointA is a more sensible variable for what you *really* mean and then you increment/decrement it :-)

Re: Stepper Motor Turn Syntax

What happens if you treat TurnA as a position (PositionA) that is modulo 512 internally.

Does the command Add/Subtract 512 to TurnA/PositionA make sense in the Scratch world, and will it work on repeats?

Thanks Chinasaur. This is uh-mazing and I love you went out and solved the problem you had and shared it :) We should be releasing the source for the VESA Mount at some point, but could we send you it early so you can add holes to support the Pibow Modela too? For reference, the bolts for VESA are g...

If you've got a Rev.2 Pi then you can use the mounting holes on that, as they're cut on the base of the Pibow too.

Re: Pibow acrylic layer thickness

Hey Chinasaur,

Sorry for not replying sooner. Yes, the Pibow should use 3mm acrylic for all layers. You'll also need 30mm M3 screws for the corners. We recommend nylon to play nicely with the acrylic but metal works too :-)

Re: Pibow and Adafruit low-profile Micro SD adapter

So, after testing with the Pio and the Adafruit SD stubby, they sorta-kinda work with massive caveats. You'll have to place the SD card in the slot before closing the case, and don't make the screws too tight, as it will bow the base and put more pressure on the base and the Model B. It's not ideal,...

There are many many cases, we didn't have pibow cases until a week or so ago, so we could not test - but as we get more cases we'll test and provide a list. generally speaking, any case will have some issue with add-ons, things are moving fast :) limor We'll give it a test and see if there's an ele...

The broken bits are also useful for making modern art, so not a complete waste.

Re: Pibow (a colourful case for your Raspberry Pi)

If you had longer screws could you fix 2 together? If you had longer screws and a thick bolt you could mate two together. The bottom one has the screws placed in from the bottom, the top one has the screws the 'normal' way. There is also the possibility of grub screws as well. We've got a ton of sc...

When I passed through the science museum, I saw an Apple I. It was gorgeous, in a 1970s kinda way

Sitting right next to the Cray-1.

There are ~100 pi's with this slot on, so they're kinda rare. Changing it would be like changing to wooden case on an Apple I to me, so I'd say you're right.

The good news is that getting a production model isn't as expensive as buying an Apple II was
