Not yet.

Current image for raspberry Pi3 does not support hdmi.
Only console over usb.

I would prefer the SD micro card as it much cheaper, and make less clutter, as it is inside the PI2.
But I wonder is there some trade of involved?
I understand better speed with SSD, tough limited by USB2.
