Re: [Kali Linux] Issues with first time booting

There was such non-booting issue with the very first version Kali-1.1.09 for Raspberry Pi 2 and it was fixed with Kali-1.1.10. There was also a manual fix: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=99619&p=693573#p693573 However I do not see any booting issue with the new Kali 2017.2 (...

Re: Fedora 22 out, now how do I get it on my PI 2

The best way is using Berryboot - Boot menu/OS installer for ARM devices:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/berryboot/
http://www.berryterminal.com/doku.php/berryboot

Update: Finally we may download the official Kali LInux image kali-1.1.0-rpi2.img.xz from https://www.offensive-security.com/kali-linux-vmware-arm-image-download/ . It works right after extracting and placing on microSD card. Still the Kali Linux is not optimized and the benchmark rezults using Nben...

I also have 30Mbps cable modem (Cisco) Internet connection and don't need any NAS server - the cable modem has USB port where I can attach any USB drive and the cable modem is acting as a NAS server. Easy and simple.

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 - A few basic questions

Hello! First I'd like to say that I have been waiting for a hardware upgrade before buying a Raspberry Pi and as such, now have a few basic questions about how the device works in terms of compatibility and how it performs under certain circumstances or software: 1 - I'm aware it is a ARM-based CPU...

user007,,,,do I have to have NOOBS on the card with the multi distros? or do I just copy the multi distro files on a card and it will show me the options? Berryboot is alternative of NOOBS. You just need to copy the unzipped Berryboot files to a FAT or FAT32 formatted microSD card. That is all. The...

Re: Windows XP on RPi2 for just one app

Windows XP has no support anymore from Microsoft (except for some paid customers). People keep saying this as if it matters. Let me just point out two things: Your Windows XP (and mine as well) continues to work just fine - in fact, working much better than all the copies of Vista/Win7/Win8/etc, et...

Normally people refer to the rainbow icon as small, and then we ask them if the red power light is blinking also. When getting a rainbow screen, the most common problem is an outdated version. Hi, I just received my new raspberry Pi 2, but the ethernet port appears to be completely dead. Re: New owner Pi 2

I would not assume that a purchased NOOBS card is correct for a Pi2B. There were many posts here regarding similar problems and normally they all investigate the PS in case of Under-voltage Rainbow square warning. Something more. They also are giving a suggestion that the result of using a low volt...

Re: New owner Pi 2

Ignore the ELinux wiki pages. The vast majority of these pages haven't been updated since the original Pi 1 was released and the early adopters crawled all over the devices finding bugs that were subsequently beaten out of the software. With the release of Pi 2, these pages become even more irrelev...

Re: New owner Pi 2

You are assuming that the "color pattern" showing is the low voltage indicator. Given the rest of the available data, it may well be the GPU test screen: A 4-color pattern more or less filling the screen. Some suggestions I found at elinux.org regarding the "coloured splash screen" or "rainbow scre...
