UniFi Switch US-8-150W witch no issues.WD Elements Portable USB connected.
Is that booting from the USB drive or booting from sdcard and just using the drive for storage?

I ask as I've not been able to boot from USB via PoE.

Unifi US-8-150w here.

Re: POE Hat - possible boot loader issue

Similar thing is happening here too. SanDisk Ultra Fit USB stick, boots fine powered over usb, but I only get the initial pre-boot coloured screen when trying to use PoE. Boots from sdcard okay from PoE, boots okay from sdcard with a usb stick also plugged in. root@testingpi:~# uname -a Linux testin...

Re: Invert power led on Pi 3?

Not had a chance for a full test of everything yet but I updated, now the dt-blob.bin does get sent over tftp for the pxe boot and the pwr led does go out but it also hangs at that point, stuck on the initial coloured screen, remove the dt-blob.bin file and it pxe boots fine.

Re: Invert power led on Pi 3?

I've been playing with this a little more and using the same dt-blob.bin file in each case and I'm seeing; Run from sd card, boots fine, pwr led goes out. Run from usb mass storage, only gets as far as the initial colourful screen and never boots, but the pwr led does go out. Delete dt-blob.bin from...

Re: Invert power led on Pi 3?

Works a treat booting from an sdcard like normal but it's failing when PXE booting. Is that anything to do with the power LED question? If not, you'll probably get better advice with either a new thread or joining the appropriate booting discussion thread. Just to be clear, it is PXE booting okay b...

You do lose the under voltag...

Invert power led on Pi 3?

Hi All, Is it possible to run the pi 3 with the power led either permanently off, or with it's function inverted so that it's normally off and just comes on to show under-voltage? I know that the way the led is connected is different internally now so that the way I used to turn it off on the pi 2 d...

Re: Real Time Clock Python Source Code

Thank you for this, it's just what I've been looking for. Only just started playing with it but I can read from and write to the ds1302 which is a lot more than I can say about the C code I was looking at yesterday (I suspect it was write protect related). Quick bit of background, I found the ds1302...

Re: Sleep Mode - and or turn off backlight?

If you're not in the Xwindows environment, i.e. at the console only, the console won't unblank if the touchscreen is used. This happens independently of being able to control the backlight. This is because the touchscreen is a mouse input device - the console only responds to keypresses.. I run gpm...

Re: Sleep Mode - and or turn off backlight?

I just left my pi with the screen not working after my post earlier and having just come back to it it's working perfectly again. It was responding at the time, but here's the full dmesg output including the time it wasn't working. barrybpl@twelfthpi ~/rpi-kivy-screen $ dmesg [ 0.000000] Booting Lin...

Re: Sleep Mode - and or turn off backlight?

Having just read the last post the same is happening here. I can ssh to the pi fine and everything is working normally but I cant get the backlight to come back on. The touchscreen is still working because I can run a kivy ui and can tell that it's accepting the touch inputs (presssing where I know ...

Perfect, Thanks.

One more thing, am I right in thinking the power led on the older models are hard wired are can't be switched off in software?

PWR LED control on 3.18.6+

Hello All, Hopefully this hasn't been asked already, I've found similar threads but none covering my problem. On the A+/B+ and Pi 2 I like to turn the power led off because I dont need it and it saves a tiny amount of power. I use the script; #!/bin/bash echo "35" > /sys/class/gpio/export echo "out"...
