Re: NOOBS and formatting

I agree, thats what should happen. I used SD formatter using the standard instructions, copied the Openelec files on (i.e. didn't do a NOOBS openelec install as in that case I'd expect to see the extra partition. Also, its not just windows - mini partition tool didn't notice it, even using ext2fs to...

NOOBS and formatting

Recently noticed an interesting feature on a card I had previously used for NOOBS, had formatted using SDFormatter and then copied a new OS onto (Openelec). The card, when in windows, showed only one partition of the right size. When on the Pi however there was a slightly random 27Mb partition (mmcb...

Re: Brand new RPi2 wont boot

I had this problem - I must assume mine was SD card based as a brand brand new SD card worked ok with NOOBS.

Re: Why is the PI2 camera-shy ?

On another point here.. you wouldnt find me putting (wet) nail varnish anywhere near a circuit board. Not without the standard "try it somewhere that wont matter" first. AFAIK nail varnish uses an acetone base (certainly the remover does), I have no idea what this will do to the varnish protective ...

Re: Raspberry pi 2 microsd compatability

Does that image include all the RPI2 supporting OSes (e.g. OpenELEC)?

Re: HOWTO: Move the filesystem to a USB stick

So I think I've discovered the fault - Somewhere (presumably when doing stuff in fdisk) it has caused the hdd to lose its filesystem for whatever reason...

Time to recover all the data from backup and start again. poo.

Does anyone else use this on a HDD? What kind of rootdelay are you using?

Re: HOWTO: Move the filesystem to a USB stick

Ok so i was a bit loose with terminology... I meant i wanted to put the OS on the HDD, and yes obviously leave the boot part on the SD card, as Joe pointed out...

Re: HOWTO: Move the filesystem to a USB stick

I'm trying to set up the boot partition to be on my hdd that is normally connected to my pi as a media storage device, so most of these changes are being done in raspbmc not raspbian (will that make a difference?) Created a partition in windows, which was then formatted in the steps on this how to (...

Re: Pi won't boot

Any checks I can make to confirm that? Just it will be a bit of an pain if I have to get a new one as obviously no one is making the B anymore... And I think it is just about to reach a year old, which will mean it is out of warranty too.

Re: Pi won't boot

So, I got a new SD card (NOOBS one from CPC), plugged it in this morning... Nothing, just the power LED.

Assume this means the board is dead?

Re: Pi won't boot

Cheers for the reply.

The SD cards all work normally in the PC, though I assume that means its just better at working through whatever issues three might be?

Any suggestions on how to test if its a possible contact issue? Is this what people are using clothes pegs for?

Pi won't boot

I've read the boot problem sticky and have tried everything on there. My Pi was previously running perfectly for almost a year (bought last Jan) on RASPBMC as a media server sort of thing. Recently did some updates to try and access it externally, but that buggered it up a bit, so decided to wipe it...

Re: Prevent SD-Card Corruption

I'd never had corruption before, but it seems more likely that this might be my current problem (Pi won't boot from any SD, just tells me it has power... after numerous reformatting/rewriting with different programs etc).

Is the core_freq issue still present in RASPBMC?
