Wifi dongle loses connection when streaming audio via MPD

Hi all! I'm having a strange issue with my wifi dongle and streaming audio via MPD on a PI Zero. The dongle looses connection and the status indicator light goes off when MPD has been streaming music from an online radio station for a while (doesn't matter which one). The problem doesn't seem to be ...

Re: Got my Pi struggling to keep it alive?

In my opinion, that doesn't look like flux residue. It seems to me that the solder paste hasn't molten correctly on that side of the board. It's a miracle the thing even turns on!

Re: Any word from Farnell?

Ah, mine finally arrived yesterday at around 15:00 through the mailbox. The packaging Farnell uses is absolutely worthless, though. Just a flimsy little cardboard box with a static shielding bag in it... Oh well, I should stop complaining. The damn thing is finally here. :)

Re: Any word from Farnell?

Ordered with Farnell on launch day, 07:45am. Farnell told it would be finally sent out this week. The week is over, and needless to say I have no Pi and no delivery notification. This is becoming really frustrating... Same here, ordered on launch day at 11:16. Farnell said it would be delivered thi...

Re: Any word from Farnell?

Just got an invoice via email. £24,45 for the pi, £2,70 freight charges and £4,91 VAT giving a total of £32,16 (which is about €40,12).

Re: Any word from Farnell?

Hey, there we go. Got my "shipped" email as well. :)
The delivery charge still says TBA, though. And I can't find the UPS tracking number anywhere in their interface (should be there, according to that email).

Oh god, I'm probably just being impatient...

Re: Any word from Farnell?

Check on the Farnell Website - I looked there first to see my order status changing and then went and had a look in my email. I ordered a second one from Farnell on 3rd March (as a backstop, one of about three as it happens) and that one is firmly stuck on Back Order which is fine. Ah, you're right...

Re: Any word from Farnell?

I have received a confirmation email from farnell a couple of weeks ago, which said that my pi will be delivered wc 21/05/2012. In other words, this week... (I ordered feb 29 at around 11:00). Haven't heard anything from farnell since that confirmation email, though. My credit card hasn't yet been c...

Yeah, I know. :) But I still thought that was weird. Why not save the values as regular binary values? Now I have to do all kind of weird conversions to get the numbers I want.

Re: RTC Software

Get yourself a DS1337. Fantastic little I2C RTC. The I2C communication works down to 1.8 volts (time keeping will work all the way to 1.2 volts), so the 3v3 from the pi is not a problem. I use it in a small pocket watch I made which runs off an ultracap. It runs off of it for many weeks as the whole...

Ah, finally some decent forum software. Thank you. :) My only problem with the custom Pi theme is the fixed-width. Why is that? Just let the post body be as wide as possible. Other than that, this is perfectly fine! Edit: BTW guys. Avatars are enabled now, apparently, so go get some! It's hard to re...

Re: USB Ports power boost

Well, perhaps it's a better idea to just hook up a USB hub with an external power supply and use that to power your power hungy stuff. You can even power the pi off the same hub.

Make sure to get a hub that can supply sufficient power, though. I'd look for something above 1A.

Re: Morse Code interface

<t>Decoding morse is easy. I've build a morse code decoder on a simple 8 bit microcontroller some time ago. It can decode morse from a morse key or from an audio signal (some analog magic to get nice dits and dahs). To decode morse, you use a running average of the dit/dah time and use that to diffe...

Nope, heard absolutely nothing. No phone calls, no emails (other then those order confirmation mails from one and a half months ago), nothing.
