Re: wheezy archives needed for pygame and touchscreens

Looks like somebody made a work around https://github.com/olegv142/pygamets/blob/master/README.md It might even work with Buster and you get python3.7 thrown in too :-) I don't have a touch screen to test with though. Nice library. The workaround is probably not necessary, because tslib has a gener...

wheezy archives needed for pygame and touchscreens

Hi, I just noticed that the wheezy archives have been removed. This breaks pygame for touchscreens, because the version of libsdl1 of Raspbian is broken since Jessie. To make pygame work with tslib you need to downgrade to the wheezy version. For details on this issue see https://learn.adafruit.com/...

PI3A+ high current draw after shutdown

My pi3a+ shows a strange behavior after shutdown: current draw rises after shutdown (halt -p) from 200mA (idle) to almost 600mA. The last time I have seen this was with a FriendlyArm Nanopi-Duo, but this was dependent on the distribution/kernel. Normal behavior of rpi is that current draw will drop ...

with a suitable value for the frequency.
Is this a matter of trial-and-error? Or is "max_speed_hz" another name for the throughput rate given in the datasheet?

Newest python-spidev broken?

Since updating my python-spidev recently (from 2.0~git20150907+rpi1 to 20170223~145721-1) my program reading an ADC does not work anymore. The old version was part of Jessie and also was provided by Stretch-light version 2017-09-07. After reverting manually, it worked again. I'm only using open and ...

Re: RAW output information

I corrected myself: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=44918&start=150#p773451 Sorry, I gave a duff offset before for the Bayer order - the structure I was looking at was embedded within another. Re: RAW output information

I have stated many times that the Bayer order is present in the raw header, but nobody seems to be bothered to investigate. Try about byte 68 into the raw header. The enum values are even in the userland repo https://github.com/raspberrypi/userland/blob/master/interface/vctypes/vc_image_types.h#L14...

Re: RAW output information

I have just updated raspi_dng on https://github.com/bablokb/raspiraw . The new version supports "old" and "new" raw-files. It also uses the embedded color matrix automatically (although you can still pass your own matrix to the program). I detected a bug when running the program on the RPI: the colo...

Re: Improving the noIR picture/camera quality

I'm in progress of writing a very important document about making pictures using noIR PI camera but I have a problem. The quality of pictures is very low. Despite a very good lighting, it is not satisfying. Pictures are kind of grainy, sharpness is not correct despite the fact I changed it and in g...

Re: RAW output information

I have problems with the raspi_dng: I'm getting compilation-errors when trying to compile on rip and on a ubuntu 64 bit system. As stated in the readme, compiliation on rip is currently broken. I didn't have access to my pi for a couple of days, I will fix that soon. Setting LIBSUFFIX to empty prob...

Raspiraw just stores the matrix in a TIFF-header field. The converter/display-program has to take care of the data.

Re: RAW output information

So those are the CCMs and AWB gains that the internal algorithms have chosen. Half the point of capturing raws is that you can tinker with them, as otherwise you are just going to recreate the same image as the GPU (although you could tweak values in other parts of the processing chain). The other ...

Re: RAW output information

Looks trivial enough. https://github.com/illes/raspiraw/blob/master/raspi_dng.c#L147 and I'd guess the new Bayer order should be "\001\002\0\001" For dcraw, http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/dcraw.c line 8170 wants to be changed so filters is (probably) 0x49494949 instead of 0x16161616 (see li...

No, this doesn't. To get correct colors, I have to flip the image which is not what I want (why should I want flipped images?). dcraw support for raw images

Hi all, there is some (limited) support for raw images within the current version of dcraw, so there is no need to convert the image to DNG anymore. To use it, you have to tweak the exif-information of the image first (dcraw expects the model-name to start with ov): exiftool -Model='ov' rpi_0000.jpg...

Re: AWB off results in severe underexposure

Ok, my understanding was that turning automatic (!) white balance off is something different than setting white balance manually. It would be more logical if setting gains to 1,1 would be the default for -awb off. Or rename "off" to "manual". Now the user has to know that for every setting _except_ ...

AWB off results in severe underexposure

Hi all, I'm using a NOIR camera-module and have some problems when AWB is turned off. When I set awb to off (e.g. raspistill --awb off -o test.jpg) the shutter-speed will be 1/5587 (at least that's what is recorded in the exif-data). The image is therefore nearly black. Same happens with python pi-c...
