MSI EEPROM Programmer

So, my little brother bricked his motherboard while trying to update his BIOS (It even killed the recovery block) and I was considering attempting to flash a new BIOS to the eeprom using the Raspberry pi. This board is an MSI and has a special parallel connector for programming the eeprom called a J...

Re: Ice Cream Sandwich

From the FAQ:

Will it run Android?

If someone in the community can port a version of Android to work with 256MB of RAM, then it’ll run on the Raspberry Pi.

Re: QTSixA

QTSixA provides linux support for PS3 controllers.  Seems like this would be handy for the folks who want to make emulation consoles.

QTSixA is not currently in the Debian Squeeze Repo, but It seems like it shouldn't be much of an issue to port this.  Think I'll give it a shot.

Re: Raspberry Pi App Store?

It would be kinda cool however if there were games that you could load from an sd image.  Kinda like an old game cartridge.  Download them and write them to sd (Would require a pc or second sd reader) Then stick the card in the Pi and it boots straight to the game.

Re: Raspberry Pi based Synthesizer

<t>Looks like it'll be a few months before my Pi ships, but I am downloading Russell's emulator now.  Hopefully I'll have some time to mess around with it soon.  Not sure how the performance of the emulator compares to an actual device, but it's a good starting point.<br/> <br/> I'd also like to tha...

Re: Raspberry Pi based Synthesizer

I can't think why you would want to use an R-Pi (no FP) to generate tones

Because I thought it might be a fun opportunity to learn some things!

Re: Raspberry Pi based Synthesizer

Were you thinking of using it with a USB keyboard or a MIDI interface?

I was thinking of using a USB keyboard at first.  Maybe trying to hack together a midi interface later.

Re: Raspberry Pi based Synthesizer

<r>I'm thinking about using the Pi to create a small portable open source synthesizer.  Similar to something like this:  <URL url="http://createdigitalmusic.com/.....e-creator/">http://createdigitalmusic.com/.....e-creator/</URL><br/> <br/> Anybody know what kind of challenges I would face, and if t...

I'm almost glad they haven't released yet.  At this point the possibility still exists that I might be able to get one.  Always late to the party...
