Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

So after testing, the 1&2 program keys map correctly to Up and Down on a Samsung TV. 3&4 don't work because they are masked by the Exit and Play buttons for Cancel and Boot respectively, since they do the same thing. If you have a different TV make/brand, you may need to map different CEC keys to t...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

@Haris1977 - Please try https://sourceforge.net/projects/pinn/files/testing/pinn-32a.zip/download (Unzip and copy everything EXCEPT recovery.cmdline over your existing PINN version) Fixed initial focus Changed tab order. Added shortcut keys U & D Added CEC keys 1,2,3,4 for Up,Down,Cancel,Boot Any a...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

I couldn’t copy the files (disk space was exceeded). I couldnt delete my sd card’s files too: disk seemed write-protected (but it wasn’t). I think i couldnt even format the e: partition (not 100% sure about that) Anyway i think my problem is my old usb to sd card adapter (not even micro sd). Will tr...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Well when i removed my sd card and put it back in my pc i had that pic poping up: https://imgur.com/a/NuqPeHY (it showed all of my sd card's partitions). But I guess i did smth i shouldnt have done :( :( . I formatted my e: partition (with sd card formatter) and copied all contents (except recovery....

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

It is a "thing" for me but most of the time i dont use my hdmi cec control to change my boot os (as 99% of the time i use LE as my default boot operation system) so at this point i dont want to mess around with downgrade process.

I think i will wait for a fix.

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

It seems that v3.2 completely ruined keyboard/hdmi cec control in boot menu. When boot menu is loaded it is now "focused" on up/down tabs (in the right side of sticky default) and NOT on os menu it self. PS1: If you managed to go to os boot menu it self, while up/down arrows work, enter/ok does not ...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Thanks procount for your answer. :D I was talking about standard usb flash drives like e.g the Sandisk Ultra Flair 32GB USB 3.0 . I do not want to boot off a USB device, i would prefer an sd card for this. So, to sum up, i will try only one sd card for all of my friend's os's. He just wants the best...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Just a more general question. I am about to install PINN for my friend. I always use a usb 3.0 drive to install PINN's os's (and of course an sd card for pinn it self) because as far as i know i can diminish sd card corruption and prolongue sd card life and stability. But that was 2-3 years ago. So ...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Well i was talking about LE in specific.

For manually updating LibreELEC uses an *.img.gz file where you put it in your "update" folder (Updating using the Samba shares). Then - in next OS reboot - it auto updates.

Should that procedure change the alias name?

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Thanks for the new update mate:) I did "rename" LibreELEC_rpi2 to LibreELEC (i tried also to rename it to LibreELEC OS but space bar always creates a _ character link - that's a small bug check that out). Just a question: If i update LE to a newer version (let's say 9.0.1) will it keep the alias nam...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Yes, I debated whether to keep the alias name when installing/re-installing/replacing or not. Now that i think about it i beleive alias name should be kept. Think about libreelec updates (which are often). If i change the name from Libreelec_RPi2 to let’s say LibreELEC, and a newer updated version ...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

I personally have no problem re-naming the os's - through the alias name - after installing/re-installing/replacing. Besides, we rarely use this option i guess. Other ppl may have different opinion though. Yes, it is surely smth wrong with the touchscreen mod. I used 2 keyboards/mouses (wired and wi...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

I tried to use the backup option for my 2 test os's (libreelec + rasplex). I formatted a 8 GB usb drive (fat32) but when i check e.g the Libreelec file on maintanance menu, the drop down menu of "Destination drive" seems empty and i can not enable my usb (thus back up option is grey out - All other ...

Try this one instead. I removed the touchscreen stuff.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/pinn/f ... p/download
This one seems to work without any keyboard issues (i used a blank disk for this).

I managed to rename my test OS's without any problem.

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Nope. If i hit any keyboard button my mouse cursor goes in the up left corner.

And Shift doesnt work either (i thing the keyboard - except for mouse - doesnt work - at least in the initial menus).

Thus i can not even go to recovery mode to check further :(

Anyone have a way to update LibreElec while retaining all content? Can I use the LibreElec image to be copied to the UPDATE folder? Thanks
You just put the latest LE image (9.0.0 img.gz as we speak) to the update folder of your machine. (LibreELEC can also use the img.gz file as an update file).

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Why do you have no_update set? * Just a small tip for this: The "PINN's self-update dialog box" pops up ONLY when y enter the recovery mode (i didnt know that - i thought it was happening on OS Boot selection :D ). So there is no need for me to have the no_update option added in cmdline (as i can m...
