Re: berryboot question

Thanks for your replies. I've played with berryboot some more and found that a similar amount of space is provided to the installed OSs which is the behaviour i was expecting. Which, at the same time, is different to my experience with typical dual boot setup, where the partition is fixed. About per...

berryboot question

Hello, Let's suppose i have a 32 GB SD card, and i install raspbian-lite , raspbian-with-desktop , arch-linux, and a LibreELEC . How much space is created for those OSs? is the space shared between them? I have another question, will a "raspbian OS installed with berryboot" perform equal (in terms o...

Pi 3 Wifi Power consumption

Hello, I have some pi's, but still a beginner. I am currently building a standalone computer based on a Raspberry Pi 2B and a 10.1" monitor. Anyway, i am currently using a wifi dongle ( TP-LINK wn721n ) which works OK but i suspect is drawing too much current. Also, as the battery is more or less li...

Access RPI from internet

Hello, Me again with a new project in mind: I need to setup a RPI in my work location, which would have internet, but is behind a firewall which i cannot modify nor redirect ports. I would like to access it from my home, either through ssh, xrdp, vnc, or any other way. Previously, this was feasible ...

Re: Serial GPIO pins

But is it specific to that particular GPIO pin only? Are you using other GPIO pins, but not seeing the warning message for those? Is you program exiting cleanly with GPIO.cleanup() . You may notice that if you reboot the pi, run your program, and find that it does not show the warning, but if you t...

Use GPIO.setwarnings(False) to disable warnings....

Re: Can a raspberry pi do this?

Sorry if i don't add much info, but i think this is perfectly feasible.

Notice that RPI2 nowadays have 4x700Mhz processor, 512 MB of RAM. It has enough resources for your project ;)

Hello, i required something similar but ended installing one RPI as file server, and another one as Media center. So from the mediacenter, you can query files and videos to the rpi fileserver, and so watch anything from there.

Re: microphones to record outdoor sounds

Real outdoor mics are kind of expensive. Sensitive mics can't stand moisture. The Zoom suggestion might be your best bet. But everything depends on what you're trying to do. You also need to take into account the RPi doesn't have sound input. So you need a USB audio interface. And one that works wi...

Hello, I have successfully set up a motion security camera, i can even watch it from my browser and all that. Re: Raspi Zbar speed compared to simple Tablet

Hi
Don't know about Zbar, but definitely lowing the resolution will speed up the process, as the image is now smaller and there are less "elements to iterate". I had a similar behaviour ( high speed with lower res ) on another project that uses pygame , so you should give it a try.

RPI as external HDD

Hello, I've been tweaking RPI's here and there, now i want to transform an RPI into an external hard drive unit, which you can connect to your PC as an USB "external hard drive disk". Something like this: http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--1jw231MN--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/...
