Great work there! Cab building is fun! It is nice to have a silent system over a Win PC based route.

Very nice and neat wiring.

Re: Need help with arcade button input

Hi, I don't think I used NES emulators when I had my GPIO buttons. You might find some more info here: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Nintendo-Entertainment-System https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/RetroArch-Configuration Some emulators accepted for example 'LCTRL' in ...

Re: GPIO Mapping for Arcade Project

Are you going to use Retropie? It sound like you are building a 2-player cab. I used GPIO (no lag) on my bartop builds using RPI1 & RPI2 for single player, but due to the extra buttons for my 2-player bartop (using RPI3) I used a USB controller. Then you just have a USB cable going to the RPi compar...

Re: editing fba2x.cfg

Hi, I have been using PIFBA, as I believe it is the only 2-player Neo-Geo emulator. Once you get your head around the .cfg it is fine. Config is here: /opt/retropie/emulators/pifba/fba2x.cfg or /opt/retropie/configs/fba/fba2x.cfg You should be able to access and edit this file within the File Manger...

Re: Uae4arm: Amiga emulator with JIT and DispmanX

Great work @MiDWaN. We just need to made sure we don't have numerous fragmented versions of UAE4ARM and that the latest TomB versions from Pandora are rolled into UAE4ARM for RPI. I hope everyone that has been working on porting the original code to RPI is happy to ensure the community has the best ...

Re: Mame Roms wont load when USB audio interface is connecte

I know what you mean, there is always something with the RPI that does not quite work right! I previously used GPIO inputs, but currently I am using KADE USB contollers setup as usb keyboard commands. I did not make bezels for my bartops so i just had the edges of the monitor frame painted black. My...

Re: Mame Roms wont load when USB audio interface is connecte

Hi. Yes I had this with mame4all a year or 2 ago. The answer was on PiPlay / PiMAME forums, but they seem to be down at the moment, and I can't remember the solution. If you have a RPI3 then why not use Mame 2003 on RetroPie? My setup is working well. This is what I am currently using and you can ha...

Re: Gamestarter: Retrogaming addon

You should be able to force sound via the sudo raspi-config. Although I have found it best to purchase a £2 USB soundcard and have the sound going via this (avoids crackles and the like). I go this route because I generally use PC monitors for my bartop arcades and either use HDMI-VGA convertors or ...

Re: Scanline overlay for 1440x900 monitor?

Just to say have have had great success converting the overlay images and modifying the configs for 1440x900 resolution. The original creator 'Floob' has done a great job. If you have a wide-screen monitor, you have to run MAME with overlays and shaders! I am now concentrating on finishing off my ba...

Re: Scanline overlay for 1440x900 monitor?

I managed to find a .PNG for 1280x800 which my monitor might be capable of.

I also used GIMP to crop out 1440x900 from a 1920x1080 scanline .PNG

Not sure if this is the best way, but I will try it.

MAME overlays for 1440x900 monitor?

Hello, There must be quite a few people running emulation via a PC monitor instead of HDMI TV. Has anyone created a Scanline overlay/mask at 1440x900 res they could upload please? I was looking at using Floob's excellent rp-video-manager for RetroPie, but it is set-up for 720 & 1080 displays :( http...

I think Forgotten Worlds is cursed.
I am sure when trying it via MAME (0.78?) on my RPi it would play for a few seconds then crash out.

Re: Uae4arm: Amiga emulator with JIT and DispmanX

Nice work GrethTom, especially as you are looking at getting Chips to incorporate it. It is best just to have 1 version on the RPi. It sounds like another feature people would like is a customisable 'menu' key. F12 is good for PC keyboard, but not if your using an original AMIGA keyboard & USB adapt...

Re: Uae4arm: Amiga emulator with JIT and DispmanX

I guess because no Amiga programs use F12 ;) so there are no compatibility issues. Some WHDload exits use F10.

SWOS spinning logo show/hide is F10 (from memory) lol!

Hi,

Thanks for working on this.
I have just been trying it. It seems to lock up when trying to run a Hardfile. Maybe its me?
Also the 'menu' key is back to CTRL. I thought we were moving to F12.

Cheers.

I've just just normal PC speakers as they have volume control etc. They have fitted inside my bartops, but you could always dismantle them and separate the speakers and amp circuit. Quite a lot of them now dont come with a power supply because they are powered from PC's USB. So check that or buy ano...

Hi,

My vertical bartop is running on 256mb RPi v1 & I am driving veritical res via MAME config.

Using the rotate option in Config.txt causes too much slowdown :( I have not tried on RPi v2 to see if it can run ok via Config.txt screen rotation.

Excellent excellent work there. :ugeek:

Any chance of incorporating Vertical Support? One of my barcades has the monitor set-up for vertical games e.g. 1943, Donkey Kong. With MAME4ALL the menu is 90 degress out  and you get a stiff neck :D :o
