Re: NOOBS_v1_4_2.zip

OK, just got the Windows 10 one I made to boot. It was the B+ board I was using. I plugged the card into another B+ I had jessie running on and it booted right up, so the board has problems. It might well be any of the tries I did tonight might have worked. I guess I'll have to figure out what's wro...

NOOBS_v1_4_2.zip

What has gone wrong with the raspberry pi installs? http://www.raspberrypi.org/help/noobs-setup/ worked at one time. I followed the directions originally over a year ago to make the images that worked. Now nothing works. Has anyone got NOOBS_v1_4_2.zip http://director.downloads.raspberrypi.org/NOOBS...

Re: B+ odd issues with SD card (solved)

One of the problems I see with what was done is that 32G isn't really a real size standard. 32G drives of any type even from the same manufacturer have different sizes often times. I ran into this on Transcend S.S.D. drives (all say they are 32G), the new ones are a few bytes smaller than the old on...

Re: STARTERS GUIDE for Raspberry Pi, A, B and B+

Very good article, wish it was as good when I was starting. One thing I've found is the US composite output generally doesn't work from 4 on the keyboard. Likely a mapping issue but I could only make it work this morning with $ (Shift+4 on a US keyboard). There was no way to make it work after the i...

Re: Slow transfer speeds to pi attached disks

First the WiFi is half duplex which is why 4MB/Sec (that and overhead). The file system doesn't matter if your interface is the pi to samba/ftp whatever. For Flash ext2 is recommended, I generally use ext3 or ext4 on hard drives. Wired should be twice as fast as WiFi due to duplex. Wires have a tran...

Re: SyncTERM on the Pi

After the last failure, I deleted what I had and started from scratch. Did: wget -c http://syncterm.bbsdev.net/syncterm-src.tgz sudo tar -xf $HOME/temp/syncterm-src.tgz # unpacking to /usr/local/src like I used to do about 20 years ago /usr/local/src/syncterm-20140614/src/syncterm $ sudo make An hou...

Re: SyncTERM on the Pi

That seems to helped someone, but I seem to have hit another snag in that same compile: $ sudo apt-get install libncurses5-dev Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done libncurses5-dev is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to r...
