Re: /etc/rc.local not running at boot?

If you check the content of /etc/init.d/rc.local you should see something like this : #! /bin/sh ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: rc.local # Required-Start: $all # Required-Stop: # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 # Default-Stop: # Short-Description: Run /etc/rc.local if it exist ### END INIT INFO PATH=/sbin:/...

rc.local viene lanciato all'avvio come utente root, quindi non serve usare sudo, prova senza.

Re: /etc/rc.local not running at boot?

Your system seems OK, so rc.local should be executed at boot. I'm sorry but I'm afraid I don't have a clue for you, do you already tried a sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade ? Don't know what ever else suggest...

Re: /etc/rc.local not running at boot?

I don't know how raspbmc works , but if you have access to a console type the follow : guargua@guargua-desktop:~$ for i in 2 3 4 5; do ls -l /etc/rc$i.d/ | grep local; done lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 dic 23 20:27 S99rc.local -> ../init.d/rc.local lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 dic 23 20:27 S99rc.local -> ...

Re: /etc/rc.local not running at boot?

I don't have raspbmc so I can't check it, but rc.local should be linked as service to start in /etc/rc.d[2 3 4 5] dirs. Does your system has this links?

Re: Letture analogiche arduino diverse su pc e raspberry

Raspy already has two 1.8 K pullup resistors on SDA/SCL lines, so the two 10 K resistor could be omitted .

Have you already read this ?

1(!). Si, non dovrebbero esserci controindicazioni.

Re: Creating a virtual switch that connects 2 GPIO pins toge

I would use an analog switch ic, like the CD4066 or LH1540. The first one is more easy to use, but has a quite high on resistance, so may work or not, difficult to say without testing, the second should work for sure.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible?

Thank you ^_^
You can delete/move away the .py file and keep the compiled .pyc, that is not "human readable".

Re: GPIO unresponsive, and yet powered

GPIO2 (pin3) and GPIO3 (pin5) can be used for the I2C bus (SDA/SCL) and so both has a pullup resistor, but you should be able to make them low via software.

Re: 24V to 5V DC to DC conversion

I've used one of this, very small and easy : just 3 terminal, in same way and order of the 78XX linear regulator IN-GND-OUT, nothing to adjust. It's rated for 1 amp, and tahat was ok for my raspy B. RS has it in stock (811-1423), maybe can be found even from cheaper supplier.

So, I understand that I cannot create a USB to serial plug for the Pi, as that would require much more advanced programming, possibly with an Arduino. However, now I am wondering if it is to recreate a MAX3232 chip using the same set of components so that I can plug an old DB9 device into the Pi. F...

I don't have a simple answer for you, but indeed a question: why don't you use the RTC to set system date/time at boot , and then use that in your code? Would be much simpler....
